(In reply to thatho from comment #4)

Outline level is not a property of numbering. As I wrote, it's property of
paragraph (style), and is configured on paragraph's Outline and Numbering tab.

connect error

I just tried to connect to my .odb file with LibreOffice 7.0.1 (never tried
with 7.0.0) under Windows 64 10 and MySQL 8.0.21 and failed with

The connection to the data source "test" could not be established.

SQL Status: 28000
Error code: 1045

Plugin mysql_native_password could not be loaded: The specified module could
not be found. Library path is
'/usr/local/lib/mariadb/plugin/mysql_native_password.dll'

It has worked without problems with LibreOffice 6.x (to MySQL 8.0.18) when I
created the .odb.

I have not changed password connection because still using MySQL Workbench
without problems.

I'm wondering about the Unix path because I'm using Windows.

Dear Jacobo Aragunde Pérez,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear Paolo Benvenuto,

I also assume the version you saw this bug happening is actually 7.0.2.x, and
you only chose "7.0.1.2 release" in bugzilla's version field because 7.0.2
versions are not available there.

Version 7.0.1 shouldn't have this bug and you can re-install the old version if
this bug is bothering you too much.

(In reply to Sascha Z from comment #3)
> How about "Edit Style"?

Nope, Styles are best handled in the Styles deck, and the Properties deck
should reflect applied style or direct formatting if that is in use.

The 'Properties' exposed in the content panels of the context sensitive Deck
are simply the properties of the Object with GUI focus. It does not get much
simpler than that.

Though some of us have long preferred it not be the default opening deck for
the Sidebar, e.g. bug 65351 that never gained traction.

This is not a bug.

Headings in LibreOffice are not paragraphs having style "Heading N", but any
paragraph having outline level different from Text Body.

Normally Heading N paragraph styles have those corresponding outline levels
set, which makes any paragraph with such style to be treated as heading (get
into ToC, display as a referenceable object, etc.). But in this document,
neither paragraph styles nor directly applied paragraph properties have the
outline levels set to something else than Text Body. Thus no headings exist in
the document -> nothing in the list.

That lack of a visual queue on canvas as to which field object has dialog focus
is annoying. Not critical, but annoying when field sequence for source template
was not well ordered and labeled.

There should probably be some linkage between field object with focus on canvas
and one of the controlling Field dialogs--uno:AddField, uno:insertFieldCtrl,
uno:FieldDialog, uno:UpdateField, uno:InsertFields, uno:UpdateInputFields --
and as well the Go to Next/Prev input field controls.

Have been trying, without success to follow latest 7.1 help.
Bug or Documentation problem?

Problems

1. Corner radius is only active for textbox. Always greyed out for shapes.

2. Slant angle can be entered for textbox, but is not saved and has no effect.
(it works for shapes.)

3. Cannot set control points for textboxes or shapes (of any kind).
Spinboxes can be change, but after OK and reopen dialog, values are reset to
zero, and no control points shown. (One exception, "rounded rectangle" starts
with a Control 1 - X is present, but cannot change Control 1 - Y, or Control 2
(x and y))

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137274] New: Deleting Comment disables Comment-Navigator

2020-10-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137274

Bug ID: 137274
   Summary: Deleting Comment disables Comment-Navigator
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: f.tha...@posteo.net

Created attachment 166103
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=166103=edit
Example-screenshot (not the actual bug)

Description:
Deleting a comment sometimes disables the Comment-Navigator-dropdown. In this
case, the Comment option stays unusually colorful (as there still are other
comments left), the dropdown-triangle vanishes though.
This results in there being no way of opening the dropdown-list of all
comments. It's a dead menu-option now.

How to reproduce:
This is kind of a weird bug; not sure how to reproduce it, I managed to get it
a few times in a new document, so it should be document independent... it's
inconsistent though.
Here's how I think you get it:
1. Create a new document.
2. Write any amount of text.
3. Create a few comments.
4. Open Navigator (You can do this earlier as well.)
5. Open the comment-dropdown in the navigator to see all the comments.
6. Retract the comment-dropdown.
7. Delete one of the Comments.

(You might have to resolve/unresolve the comment first. No Idea whether this
has any effect... might just be a placebo.)

By the way, after 6 years the status of this bug, which is classified as
"major" important, is still on "new" and not assigned to anybody.

You could at least add a new handy status, something like "will be ignored" or
"the very appealing solution for this bug is to buy yourself a support and/or
fix it yourself" ... and close the bug. This way people at least know what they
can expect from this bug tracking system ...

I confirm the described behaviour with

Version: 7.0.2.2 (x64)
Build ID: 8349ace3c3162073abd90d81fd06dcfb6b36b994
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: he-IL (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

I don't know, if this is a bug or the correct current behaviour (which can be
improved). So I would treat it as enhancement request at the moment and ask
design-team for further input and decision.

Presonally I would support the idea, because in a document with a lot of fields
it would be helpful to make the selected field more visible.

@Heiko
The table of content dialog pretty (ugly) width because of the background
bitmap preview. And the preview bit over-sized anyhow with the presents
available, so can we shrink the preview a little? [Or did we address this topic
elsewhere already]

Would make a few other dialogs containing the preview nicer too, if you ask me.
And would help in this case too (comment 9)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137272] New: Superscripted font is cut off and line spacing increased when smaller block quoted text has footnote or endnote in it, due to use of one font size for all footnote

2020-10-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137272

Bug ID: 137272
Summary: Superscripted font is cut off and line spacing
increased when smaller block quoted text has footnote
or endnote in it, due to use of one font size for all
footnotes in document.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thuck...@yahoo.com

Description:
Superscripted font is cut off and line spacing increased when smaller block
quoted text has footnote or endnote in it, due to use of one font size for all
footnotes in document.

While I realize this may be caused by a limitation of the .odt format itself,
given that it may not support saving different anchor text font sizes for
footnotes against different main document text sizes, there IS a way to program
a workaround, and that should be done. Simply look at the size of the
surrounding text (to the anchor text of the footnote) and if that surrounding
text is a smaller point size than the default text (e.g., of a document's main
body), then calculate the size and position of the superscript for the anchor
text (i.e., footnote or endnote indicator) to be proportionally smaller.

For example, if my main document text, in the Default style, is 11 points, and
that is the size used as the basis for calculating the footnote anchor text
size and position when it is superscripted in the main document, things are
fine. But as soon as my main document has a block quote of text that is say 9
points in its style, then when I place a footnote in that block quote or at the
end of it, LibreOffice 7.x calculates the size of the anchor text for that note
based upon the 11 point size of the anchor text style, and NOT based upon the
proper 9 point size of the actual document text being footnoted. Consequently,
the size of the anchor text in or at the end of the block quote ends up being
TOO LARGE and its position TOO HIGH, so that a) the top of the anchor
text-styled note number may be cut off AND the line spacing of the block quote
line containing the footnote is thrown off and made too large, messing up the
appearance of the document. That looks very poor and can be rectified with
slightly better programming that takes into account the point size of
surrounding document text (e.g., 9 points instead of the default 11 points).

The above has been a problem with Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice from the
start, and has been a carried-over issue from the IBM Lotus Symphony days as
well. Given the LibreOffice strives to be a more polished product and even
compete to an extent against paid suites (e.g., Microsoft Office) this SHOULD
and CAN be fixed, regardless of any possible .odt file format limitation.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a document with a default text size of 11, for example. Create a
paragraph using that default. Set the anchor text style for footnotes to use
the same font at the same 11 point size, as its basis for calculating the
superscript size and position of the note anchor text
2. Create a block quote with the same font but using a 9 point text size, and
place a paragraph of text in the document using that block quote. Then place a
footnote in or at the end of that block quote.
3. Having done step 2, you will notice that the line of text in the block quote
containing the footnote anchor text is a) misaligned with line spacing that is
too large for the block quote (e.g., when the latter is single spaced text) and
b) the footnote anchor text (e.g., "1" for the first footnote) will likely be
cut off at the top, showing only a portion of the "1", and that is because the
size of the anchor text and its superscripted placement are both being
calculated on the basis of the anchor text style for footnotes using an 11
point text size rather than the 9 point text size of the surrounding document.

Actual Results:
The footnote (or endnote if that's what's used) anchor text is too large and
cut off at the top when the footnote (or endnote) is placed in or at the end of
the block quote in the document.

Expected Results:
The anchor text for the footnote in the smaller-point block quote (which is 9
points rather than the 11 points of the default style) should be smaller and a
bit lower than corresponding anchor text for a footnote placed in the text
based upon the default style having an 11 point size. In other words, even a
note anchor placed in a block quote having a somewhat smaller point size than
the point size of the main document's text should NOT be cut off or cause the
line of text in which it's placed to have line spacing that is too large and
obviously different from the rest of the lines in the block quote.

Reproducible:

Hello!

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.

I entered the /etc/libreoffice7.0/program folder and gave the command

export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN = gen
soffice

and it worked with a different graphical interface, but I was able to resize
the window.

Thank you. I will create a launcher with these specifications.
