Too long for me to test. I just mark Minor.
Please add ODT showing the issue (can use existing, just add some text with
style name), like insert screenshot in addition to table. So when someone
opens, table should be different, if I understood any of this.

@Emmeran (and others), please, feel free to update the Wiki, to make it more
relevant for newcomers.

But yeah, in my humble opinion, things would be a lot simpler if there would
just be consensus to stop requiring Java by default, and stop building the ODK
by default. Then at least the --without-java and --disable-odk switches
wouldn't be needed to get started in a simple fashion.

See here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/lode

If you use MacPorts, you must ensure that it is not in the $PATH. If you sign
your git commits using gpg, you should disable that, because gettext at least
for me fails to build in that case. I've made myself a "env.sh", which sets
that stuff up for me. I "source env.sh" before I try to build LibreOffice.

It looks like this for me:

export GIT_CONFIG_NOSYSTEM=1
export LODE_HOME=/your/path/to/lode
export
PATH=$LODE_HOME/opt/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/MacGPG2/bin:/Library/Apple/usr/bin

Note: You need at least 95 GB to build LibreOffice with debug symbols. So you
may, like I do, build it on a external drive.

After lode did checkout the source, before calling autogen.sh, you should edit
dev/core/autogen.input and put something like this in it:

--enable-debug
--enable-symbols
--disable-odk
--disable-online-update
--enable-assert-always-abort
--without-export-validation
--without-java
--without-doxygen
--enable-python=no

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138277] New: Typo Ascender / Win Ascent / font Metrics

2020-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138277

Bug ID: 138277
Summary: Typo Ascender / Win Ascent / font Metrics
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ashwini.aggar...@gmail.com

Description:
When we open a file in LibreOffice Writer 6.4.7.2, it uses the "Win Ascent"
parameter of a font, rather than "Typo Ascender". This chops off diacritics in
our font. Sanskrit2020.otf
https://sourceforge.net/projects/advaita-sharada-font/files/Devanagari/

When we export as pdf, it saves correctly, the diacritics are visible.
See also "Activity log for bug 55469: Different line spacing across
platforms".

This issue is not present in Microsoft Word 2019. Using "Add space before
paragraph" the text with diacritics is clearly rendered.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.select font Sanskrit2020
2.insert unicode character $0905
3.insert unicode character $A8E2

Actual Results:
character $A8E2 is chopped off as seen in attached jpg.

Expected Results:
character $A8E2 should be clearly visible, as seen in attached pdf.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
The character $A8E2 should be clearly visible above the character $0905.

Dear Sawradym,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113833] UI: List boxes for column and row are too high in Navigator

2020-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113833

Dear Thomas Lendo,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

bug seen in 6.2 but bibisected to some commit of yours; likely exposing

They description isn't really surprising. Kind of interested in the root cause.
Combination of tracking changes hidden and plenty of comments visible is one of
they areas this happens. And also writing under an image in table under MacOS

FWIW: Most of they time they root cause being investigates, and they slowdown
seen as symptom. Instead of masking they issue by skipping paints etc

The translations on Weblate are synced to git repo now, for master branch:
https://git.libreoffice.org/translations/+/01f86d5980f43c72bcde5ccc6ba3e2ca166ceef5
Specifically, the "Reparieren" fix is here:

So this should be fixed for version 7.1.0 Beta1. Similarly, the translations
will be synced to 7-0 branch soon, and version 7.0.4 will include the fixed
translation.

Closing as FIXED.

The overlay "button" alone doesn't have to be moveable/draggable, which means
the position is fixed. The shape of it also doesn't have to be the same as the
overlay comment "button" of Impress.

Let's focus on UX. Make the UX more consistent and discoverable.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138273] New: When I merge a mailing into a PDF file by Print command, it doesn't hide hidden paragraphs

2020-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138273

Bug ID: 138273
Summary: When I merge a mailing into a PDF file by Print
command, it doesn't hide hidden paragraphs
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.3.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: m.libreoff...@santonum.eu

Description:
On Writer, in text mailing documents, we can add "hidden paragraph" fields
enabled with a condition.
When you merge the writer document to the datasource, for every record, if the
condition is true, the paragraph should be hidden.
If you access File | Print, there is a dialog like : "This document contains
database fields. Would you like to print a mailing ?" -> YES
- if you select "Output on printer" : true condition hidden paragraphs are
HIDDEN > OK
- if you select "Output on file | Save as a unique document > OK
- if you select "Output on file | Save as "distinct" documents | Filetype : ODF
> OK when printed
- if you select "Output on file | Save as "distinct" documents | Filetype : PDF
> NOT OK : IT DOESN'T HIDE hidden paragraphs !

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the 2 files mailing1n.odt and mailing1n.odb in the same folder
2. Open mailing1n.odt file in Writer
3. Check the link with the 'mailing1n.odb' datasource, 'events' table
4. Use menu File > Print
5. On dialog "This document contains database fields. Would you like to print a
mailing ?" -> YES
61. Select Output : File
62. Select "Save as distinct documents" (NOT 'unique')
63. Check "Generate the filename from the database"
64. Field : "Name"
66. File type : 'PDF - Portable Document Format'
7. Press [OK]

Actual Results:
4 files of 1 page, every page with 5 record lines, some last records are the
same

Expected Results:
4 files of 1 page :
- 2 record lines on Bernard.pdf
- 3 record lines on Jean.pdf
- 1 record line on Larry.pdf
- 2 record lines on Sarah.pdf

Reproducible: Always

Calc has different workflow than Impress. How many hours did you work in Calc?
In Impress you can insert a comment in any place of the slide and then you can
move comment's marker to any place of the slide, but in Calc you insert a
comment into specific cell and you cannot move it to another cell (without some
workaround)

Working on a NEW Writer document today, loaded and saved exclusively in Ms Word
format I have again experienced file corruption. The document was written in
Chapters saved individually. The document that corrupted was a "page 1" with
all other chapters loaded into it then saved before editing.

First I noticed that left and right margin widths had changed and were unable
to be corrected on pages or for the entire highlighted document. Then, on
examination, I found that a number of the images in the document had moved or
had disappeared leaving only a text frame as previously.

I have attached the entire document this time.

Oh. I totally missed that I had Skia disabled in Windows. Now I can reproduce
the crash. It actually hits the std::abort() in
SkiaSalGraphicsImpl::createWindowSurface().

That line has the following comment: // This should not really happen, do not
even try to cope with it.

Pending workaround at: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/105963

IMHO VCL shouldn't send empty images to the backends, like in bug 130831, which
is completely unrelated but has the same kind of hack as a fix.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138272] New: No snap when drawing circular arcs from centre point

2020-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138272

Bug ID: 138272
Summary: No snap when drawing circular arcs from centre point
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.3.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pja1...@gmail.com

Description:
I want to draw a circular arc with centre and radius defined by grid points.
Alt is needed to centre, but then overrides snap.
Using Alt for both purposes creates a conflict in this context.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set snap to grid
2.Draw a horizontal line with end points at grid points
3.Place cursor at left end of line, left click and hold Alt-Shift
4.Move cursor to right end of line. Arc radius is created, but it is impossible
to snap to end of line or grid point (the same point). So the radius in almost
certain to be inaccurate.
5. Release Shift and left click, maintain Alt and draw arc

Actual Results:
Arc is drawn, but not accurately.

There is a similar issue with the sector tool.

Expected Results:
Accurate circular arc of fixed radius centred on initial point set by the grid.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
This is really a feature request. At present Alt does 2 things which interfere.
It centres the arc (and most other figures) at the first click, but it also
overrides snap to grid. While it is possible to uncheck snap to grid and use
Alt to snap, that then means the initial (centre) point is not snapped to grid.
Either way the objective of having an arc centred on a point with a predefined
radius is not possible, except inaccurately by sight.

I would have thought that most users of the arc tool would want it centred on
the first point and not dragged out of position, so one solution would be to
make the arc tool centred by default. The steps above even if a slightly
inaccurate result is acceptable are still very complicated and awkward.

Another solution would be to use a different modifying key for snap and for
centre. Not being able to operate one without the other is a severe limitation.

Finally I am only making the request because in almost all other respects Draw
is a wonderful tool!

Another solution

Yes, as Emmeran wrote above: Issue is reproducible with all SDKs on Big Sur.
Currently LO is patched to appear as 10.13 application. I am trying to build LO
without patch as 11 application.

For this reason, I suggest to not explicitly offer such escape rule in the tool
tip, but allow such spaces in hidden manner, as a kind of error tolerant "fuzzy
logic".

Hey great, so I would be happy if you too would go for "2-".

2020-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126604

This happens because they usually only teach how to deal with it theoretically.
We defended the courseware on the device of the printer, but at the same time
we did not understand anything about the assembly and how to clean up such bugs
in practice. So, if you want to fix it more quickly, it is better to do
self-education at universities, and the written works should be assigned to one
of these companies https://bestwritersonline.com/ , here is just a description
of them and you can find a normal one. I gave this written garbage to one of
the companies, and studied the algorithm of practical work myself. Now I am
repairing such equipment myself.

I have got the same error with LO 7.0.3.1 Changed the properties of some
fields, saved the form - and most of the fields were lost.

Then I tried to reproduce the behavior, but I couldn't. Never had such a buggy
behavior before with forms. Now I'm copying forms and saving forms every time I
have changed something with a new name. Seems forms get as instable as reports
are ...

My system: OpenSUSE 15.1 with LO 7.0.3.1 and VCL: gtk3
