Yeah, I'm working on it. Until now, I've debugged the code and I have an idea
how to fix it.
Actually, it seems to me this case was never implemented. It is just missing.
But it is complicated code and I have to be careful not to break anything else.
Disclaimer: I'm an ordinary LibreOffice user. (I've already spent to about two
days on it. I expect two more days are necessary.)

All solvers use the same UNO API for the parameters (a solver defines which
parameters it has), so you would just have to remember those parameters and
save them in an ODF file.

I would start with changing the UI and add the functionality, so you can use
saved parameters, then save the parameters to a file into user profile folder
so they survive the restart and then think about adding it into a ODS file.

Dear stephan.sotter,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97157] Particular XLS with macro/forms very slow to open

2021-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97157

Dear Timur,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

With libreoffice6.4 I can scan with the ESCL driver.
On ubuntu 20.04, I downloaded the last version of libreoffice7.1, I can't scan.
I noted the error encountered.
Add my feedback and the link on the open issue on scangearmp2, it gives a start

So, just to make sure I understood everything right. The proposal is to update
the HYPERLINK Help page, adding an example and an explanation for the following
use case:

=HYPERLINK("file:///home/username/Documents/";"Clik Here")

Which will open the OS file manager on that folder. I tested it on my PC and it
works fine.

Just let me know if this is the proposed solution, then I'll implement it.

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 170448
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=170448=edit
Document for testing rotation angles.

The current text is:
RotateAngle
::com::sun::star::drawing::EnhancedCustomShapeParameterPair RotateAngle
optional property

This attributes specifies the rotation angle about the x-axis in grad.

The order of rotation is: z-axis, y-axis and then x-axis. The z-axis is
specified by the draw:rotate-angle.

Errors:
A) The Attribute is a pair of parameters and determines the angle for rotation
about x-axis and about y-axis.
B) The unit is 'degree' not 'grad'. For 'grad' see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gradian
C) 'draw:rotate-angle' does not exist.
D) Inside the API, an API attribute should be referenced for the rotation about
the z-axis, no ODF XML.

Proposed text:
This attribute specifies rotation angles. The first parameter specifies the
rotation angle about the x-axis in degree. The second parameter specifies the
rotation angle about the y-axis in degree. Rotation about the z-axis is
specified via Transformation attribute of service Shape.
The order of rotation is z-axis, y-axis and then x-axis.

Remark:
There exists in addition the attribute RotateAngle of service
RotationDescriptor for the rotation about the z-axis with unit 1/100 degree.
But that is deprecated. Perhaps add it nevertheless, because the usage is
easier? The angle for the rotation about the z-axis is not directly given in
the transformation matrix, but you need to decompose the matrix.

I have attached a document with macro, so that you can examine an object which
has extrusion.
Tools > Macros > Edit Macros
Go to macro examineShape_inDraw and set a break point at 'dummy=1'. Back to
document.
Select object, press Alt+F11 and run macro examineShape_inDraw.
Go to Basic IDE and look at oShape in Watch-window.

Rotations about x- and y-axis are in toolbar "3D-Settings". Rotation about
z-axis is in Position dialog.

On pc Debian x86-64 with LO Debian package 7.0.4 I don't reproduce this.

But if I take example of Mulish fonts, there are 2 sets:
1) the static fonts:
static/Mulish-ExtraLight.ttf
static/Mulish-Light.ttf
static/Mulish-Regular.ttf
static/Mulish-Medium.ttf
static/Mulish-SemiBold.ttf
static/Mulish-Bold.ttf
static/Mulish-ExtraBold.ttf
static/Mulish-Black.ttf
static/Mulish-ExtraLightItalic.ttf
static/Mulish-LightItalic.ttf
static/Mulish-Italic.ttf
static/Mulish-MediumItalic.ttf
static/Mulish-SemiBoldItalic.ttf
static/Mulish-BoldItalic.ttf
static/Mulish-ExtraBoldItalic.ttf
static/Mulish-BlackItalic.ttf

2) the variable fonts
Mulish-VariableFont_wght.ttf
Mulish-Italic-VariableFont_wght.ttf

If you installed variable fonts, I don't think it'll work because LO doesn't
know how to deal with it when exporting in pdf. (see
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140710#c14)

Could you confirm it still doesn't work, at least for Mulish, when you use
fonts from static folder?

No, but simple to uninstall the off-line help--it shows in appwiz.cpl as

Thanks for the confirmation, Stuart

I had indeed thought that some kind of heavy time-consuming processing was
going on to build the topic list, but a check with Task Manager shows that
throughout the 22 seconds, the CPU percentage remains at 1% or 2% and the disk
percentage remains at 0%. Resource manager also gives no clue of any heavy
activity going on.

Also, when using Firefox, the delay was not present even on the first use, so
it can't be an issue of creating some kind of index on first use and then
keeping it in a cache.

My reason for installing the offline F1 help in the first place is in
expectation of that being quicker than online F1 help (not that I've ever tried
it).

Is there a way to toggle between F1 giving offline help and online help so that
I can judge the difference for myself? I've looked in Tools | Options but can't
find such a toggle.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140990] New: Cannot scale font size in Calc sheet names

2021-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140990

Bug ID: 140990
Summary: Cannot scale font size in Calc sheet names
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: 1010.util...@gmail.com

I've seen this question asked multiple times over several years yet the issue
persists. I'm using verison 7.1.1.2 (Arch Linux), but have been a user since
the StarOffice days. Posters in Ask LibreOffice have been told to change their
system font or modify a gtkrc file, to build some complex stylesheet, or to
scale up the entire spreadsheet, which in the current version has no impact on
the font size of sheet names.

The only references I can find similar to this are from 2011 and 2012 (Bug IDs
36772 and 46357).

If every cell in a spreadsheet can have a font size attribute, why not the
sheet name? I see there are other attributes I can toggle. Personally I'm at
wits end on this as my vision requires I both wear reading glasses and scale up
the sheet. I'm about to search alternate software solutions. Please give real
consideration to opening this as a valid LibreOffice (Calc) bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140989] New: Fails to run after install (requires during off hardware acceleration with safe-mode)

2021-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140989

Bug ID: 140989
Summary: Fails to run after install (requires during off
hardware acceleration with safe-mode)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mi...@kuentos.guam.net

Description:
On my one notebook. Found that doing an installation of 7.1.1.2 would result in
a package that would load initial splash screen, but then just drop to command
prompt. Also happens with Appimage.
Found that starting it with --safe-mode would get it to load, and tried lots of
options, but seems turning off all hardware acceleration is the thing that gets
it to work. The Fedora 6.4 version did not have acceleration turned on.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install 7.1.1.2
2.Run Fails just drops to command prompt no specific error?
3.Running in safe-mode and turning off hardware acceleration fixes it??

Actual Results:
On my Aspire E1-731-4699 notebook with Fedora 32.
Installation runs fine, but startup shows initial splash screen, but drops to
command prompt. Same result with appImage. Bringing it up in safe-mode works,
and disabling all hardware acceleration option, will then allow it to load
fine. This has to be done with each user?

Expected Results:
Expect it to not require special options after installation.
Doesn't give an error message, or any guide to having to use the safe mode or
turning off the hardware acceleration.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Not sure why the hardware acceleration is being turned on by default, or why it
doesn't show an error message or give instructions to try the safe-mode and
turning off the hardware acceleration.
Worked on another machine, so assume this is something with setups that don't
work with the hardware acceleration. It lists 3 things OpenCL, OpenGL, and
Vulkan, but only see the OpenCL option in options later. Safe-mode only shows
turning off all. Tried turning on OpenCL after it worked, and it went back to
not working. So had to use safe-mode again to turn off.

@all: careful, long, but has info with solution potential!

@jay: nice job in narrowing down, you had the fish hooked, but i think it was
too diverse an interaction to understand right away?

imho there are five effects mixed here:

1. calc doe's some 'rough' rounding, especially near zero results, but not or
less strict for the statusbar,

2. bin representations of most fractional decimal values are not exact but
contain small deviations,

3. these deviations may add up in calculations,

4. especially when subtracting values of similar magnitude deviations are
boosted (powered) in their relative! effect on the result, and thus sometimes
become visible,

5. above may give different results for computing the same operands in
different order,

6. calc uses different calculation engines for the sheet and for the status bar
resulting in different calculation orders, and thus - sometimes - different
results, ... why? ... i don't know ...
- that for the sheet starts bottom right and calculates rightmost column bottom
up, then continues with nextleft column,
- that for the statusbar starts leftmost column top -> down, then continues
with nextright column,
- ex$el deviates and starts top row left to right, continues with rows top
down,
(i just filed a bug for that as it undermines calc - ex$el compatibility,
tdf#140691)
- ex$el statusbar / autosum - to be honest - i haven' yet deciphered, it's
sometimes by row left right top down, sometimes by column top down left right,
and looks depending on the field marked, only the cells to be calculated or
empty cells around included and whatever more ... might be also where you
started marking, might be depending if marked by mousedrag or keyboard ... not
yet understood,

above: info for this bug - below: further reflections (important?)

didn't check how google or similar work, but already within theese three it's
deviations enough as fp-math is not in all cases associative (in fact it's only
for very few cases), and thus different results come up,

if you then try to achieve ex$el compatibility by rounding you may quickly come
to a status as calc is now, rounding here and there, and nobody knows why it
doesn't work ...

the idiosyncrasy of calc dates back to 3.5.1.2 and may be former ver., i -
assume - 'inherited',

imho an important decision,

what do we want? achieve full ex$el compatibility, or keep calc backward
compatible?

and the longer i think about i get the feeling - 'assume' (sorry@erAck) - that
such might be one of the root causes for multiple calc problems, users complain
about deviating from ex$el, devs don't understand why ... 'let's try some more
rounding', not good!,

step one: check if i'm right with that analysis,

step two: spread that info,

step three: let the big brains think about and find a solution,

(my proposal: an option switch and two modi, 'calc - correct math' or 'ex$el -
as compatible as possible', then you would have clear targets and can work
straightforward ...)

Dear Mz. Nabet:
I have applied the contents in
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps. I had my user profile
restored, but sadly this bug happened again. Also, I can be sure that this bug
is not concerning OpenGL or OpenCL, since I was not using Calc and I am also
observing this bug with OpenGL off.
I have not tried the second method (export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen). However,
this time, a new and "useful" backtrace log had been generated. From the bug
report, I can guess that this bug is somewhat related to Qt5 and/or Kf5 (I'm
not a programmer myself so forgive my mistake). The newly-generated bug report
is attached below.

The point is that this bug is if you save the file as .pptx, not .odp - so your

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140987] New: Conversion to pdf using LibreOffice 7.0.4 fail in Oracle Linux Server 8.3

2021-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140987

Bug ID: 140987
Summary: Conversion to pdf using LibreOffice 7.0.4 fail in
Oracle Linux Server 8.3
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: arnabdmal...@gmail.com

Description:
Using Oracle Linux Server 8.3 and trying to convert rtf to pdf using
LibreOffice 7.0.4 and the conversion fails.
Running the following command as root

./soffice --headless --convert-to pdf --outdir /tmp /tmp/abc.rtf

The output seen is

convert /tmp/abc.rtf -> /tmp/abc.pdf using filter : writer_pdf_Export

Error: Please verify input parameters... (SfxBaseModel::impl_store
 failed: 0xc10(Error Area:Io Class:Write Code:16)
/home/buildslave/source/libo-core/sfx2/source/doc/sfxbasemodel.cxx:3153
/home/buildslave/source/libo-core/sfx2/source/doc/sfxbasemodel.cxx:1735)

Strangely, all other conversion works as expected (rtf to html, rtf to doc, rtf
to odt).
Also, I tried to convert rtf to pdf using LibreOffice 5.1.2.2 on the same
Oracle Linux Server 8.3 and the conversion worked.
Content of abc.rtf is simply – Hello World.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a simple rtf file
2. ./soffice --headless --convert-to pdf --outdir abc.rtf
3. Conversion fail

Actual Results:
Error: Please verify input parameters... (SfxBaseModel::impl_store
 failed: 0xc10(Error Area:Io Class:Write Code:16)
/home/buildslave/source/libo-core/sfx2/source/doc/sfxbasemodel.cxx:3153
/home/buildslave/source/libo-core/sfx2/source/doc/sfxbasemodel.cxx:1735)

Expected Results:
rtf to pdf conversion successful

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
conversion successful using LibreOffice 5.1.2.2 on the same Oracle Linux Server
8.3

Hi Dieter:

In answer to the two questions in your comment:

[1.] Q: "I can't see a paragraph style "letter" in . Are
you sure, that it isn't a custom style?"

A: Yes sir, I am certain it is not a custom style; see proposed _enhancement_
meta-description in the "Additional Info" section.

Additional Info:
Proposed enhancement meta-description:

1. Create paragraph style level-02 "Letter" hierarchy under level-01 "Default
Paragraph Style".

[2.] Q: "And if you don't agree with hierarchy, you can easily customise it and
add as many additional styles as you want."

A: I am seeking to contribute to a hierarchy organization improvement issue, i.
e., fix once -- help many. I offered my logical reasoning at the beginning:

"Description:
LibraOffice Writer paragraph styles type "Letter" may be more efficiently
grouped in a new hierarchy. Global low-level and high-level styles are
currently intermixed. Letter styles may only be used by a few users, and are a
distraction. Most other style types are grouped."

[3.] Further, in accordance with directions and conventions, I carefully edited
a hopefully clear title and summary:

"Writer paragraph styles "Letter" may be more efficiently grouped in a new
hierarchy."

[4.] May I respectfully observe that this is only one of several related style
hierarchy issues.

Thanks!
