[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141769] Crash in: cppu::OInterfaceContainerHelper::disposeAndClear(com::sun::star::lang::EventObject const &)

2021-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141769

--- Comment #37 from Laurence 'GreenReaper' Parry ---
As might be hinted at from the commit, it's not necessary to close the window
to trigger the crash; just disable the Formula Bar via: View/Formula Bar.

The setting appears to be changed first, so subsequently restarting Calc and
then closing the window will succeed without a crash, because there is no
InputBox to dispose. This may be why it has not been universally reproducible.

It appears non-determinsitic as to whether disabling the Formula Bar causes a
crash if you click the expand-down button and/or type content into the InputBox
first. I have been able to close the Formula Bar and app, but not repeatably.

---

A bunch of code changed in that commit, so it's hard to pick out what caused
it, but presumably those who know it might have a better idea.

I notice in ScAccessibleEditLineTextData (AccessibleText.cxx) existing
isDisposed asserts were removed. How certain is it that mpTxtWnd isn't
disposed? (These were commented out as "TODO" at one point?)

Class ScTextWnd has a WeakReference xAcc, but in ScTextWnd::CreateAccessible it
is set to a Reference instead. The same pattern is used for
ScEditWindow::CreateAccessible, but it looks to have been a bigger change for
ScTextWnd, which has also modified disposal, eliminating steps and dispose()
itself (called by ~ScAcessibleEditObject?) in favour of a destructor.

Dear Arnaud LE CAM,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Hi MEMPHISDAVE1! This bug was marked as RESOLVED and is already overwhelmed
with comments going in various directions, so won't be reopened.

Could you please instead create a new bug report, with the attachment, and with
precise steps to reproduce the issue? (e.g. "Open file X -> Save as ODP -> Open

Thank you!

Up to LO 7.0.5, am ok, no issue. Any higher, even nightly builds, fail.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43742] EDITING: Auto-complete logic does not help editing

2021-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43742

--- Comment #11 from Richard Neill  ---
That makes some sense from the cognitive perspective, but it's not very helpful
if you have a long string that is unique at the end. For example,

Barclays,Barclays,Barclays,Barclaycard,Barclays

I think the more intelligent approach would be to look for the matches, finding
the nearest-proximity one in the same column.

2021-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142708

Bug ID: 142708
   Summary: [WMF] BitBlt "without bitmap" variant is not supported
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: f...@df.ru

Description:
[MS-WMF] 2.3.1.1.2 defines a BitBlt "without bitmap" variant.
LO doesn't support it.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open attached WMF sample.

Actual Results:
LO shows two overlapping rectangles.

Expected Results:
It should have two overlapping rectangles and three copies of the overlapping
area in around.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
One of the smaller rectangles has negative YDest value and one has negative
"Width" to allow testing for such cases.

TIFF files saved with Zip compression fails (Photoshop export suggests that
will happen with older readers); LZW compression imports OK. Don't use 16 bit

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142707] New: PDF: Export to PDF of relative hyperlinks created by function HYPERLINK() not plausible

2021-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142707

Bug ID: 142707
   Summary: PDF: Export to PDF of relative hyperlinks created by
function HYPERLINK() not plausible
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: s...@gmx.net

Description:
Relative paths to a subdir are not exported correct to a pdf. There happens a
lot of unwanted and untested string conversion I think.

Steps to Reproduce:
Export relative path in PDF export dialog.
Create directory "subdir" on "d:\".
Use a working pdf as target.
Copy the pdf to "D:\subdir\"
Rename it to "file.pdf"
Create a calc document in "D:\".

Now we want a relative path to the pdf in the subdir.

Case A:
=HYPERLINK("subdir/file.pdf")

Case B:
=HYPERLINK("./subdir/file.pdf")

Case C:
=HYPERLINK("d:/subdir/file.pdf")

Case D:
=HYPERLINK("file:///d:/subdir/file.pdf")

Actual Results:
Case A:
- working hyperlink in ODS
  * path is relative
  * leading to "subdir/file.pdf"
- not working hyperlink in PDF
  * path is relative
  * leading to "file:///D:/./subdir%2Ffile.pdf"
  * a "./" is inserted

Case B:
- working hyperlink in ODS
  * path is relative
  * leading to "./subdir/file.pdf"
- not working hyperlink in PDF
  * path is relative
  * leading to "file:///D:/./.%2Fsubdir%2Ffile.pdf"
  * an additional "./" is inserted

Case C:
- working hyperlink in ODS
  * path is absolute
  * leading to "d:/subdir/file.pdf"
- not working hyperlink in PDF
  * path is relative
  * leading to "file:///D:/./d:%2Fsubdir%2Ffile.pdf"
  * a "D:/./" is inserted
  * I moved subdir and the pdf to "T:\"
  * now leading to "file:///T:/./d:%2Fsubdir%2Ffile.pdf"

Case D:
- working hyperlink in ODS
  * path is absolute
  * leading to "file:///d:/subdir/file.pdf"
- working hyperlink in PDF
  * path is absolute
  * leading to "file:///d:/subdir/file.pdf"

Expected Results:
Case A and B should in any case lead to working relative path.

Case C and D should in any case lead to working absolute path.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I used a workaround by computing the actual path.

=HYPERLINK(CONCATENATE(REGEX(CELL("FILENAME");"file:///.+/");"subdir/file.pdf"))

So I get a relative path to the pdf in both the ODS and in the exported PDF
file.

One small flaw in my workaround is because there is no celltext given in this
example, it does change the linkaddress in the exported PDF, if I copy it to a
new location, but not the celltext.

A bigger problem for Mac users may be, that it does not work on a Mac, but I
don't have a Mac for daily use to play around with.

--- Comment #20 from V Stuart Foote  ---
How is this a bug? The view port shift is annoying--but the docked TBs opening
contextually is exactly as the UI is implemented.

You could set them docked and always showing--but you'd loose a lot of screen
space. You could set them floating, but they'll pop-open over content you
probably want to see. You can use the Sidebar UI which is contextual. You can
use the Contextual Single UI whcih limits the context portion to a single fixed
location. And I'll say now--those aren't "workarounds" they are what is
implemented.

What you can not do is disable the context sensitivity of the controls--that is
the enhancement and even then it won't eliminate the viewport shift of exposing
 a docked TB.

Shift+Ctrl+S (Special Characters) is not working in the Find & Replace dialog

shortcut.

(Friends have confirmed that it is working on MX Linux/Libreoffice: 6.1.5.2 &
Mint 19.3/LibreOffice 6.0.7.3. But not in LibreOffice v.7.1.3.2 for either of
those distros.)

Shift+Ctrl+S (Special Characters) DOES work in the Find (Ctrl+F) field in all
the above situations.

2021-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142513

--- Comment #9 from Thorsten Wagner  ---
Unfortunately not:

(1) Order of plus and minus icons is swapped compared with the zoom slider on
the right (see screenshot from Calc attached). Writer has the plus sign on the
right too (see screenshot from Writer attached).

(2) Background of zoom slider became white (on macOS at least, see screenshot
from Calc attached).

Zooming itself works now as expected again. So, buttons need to be swapped
(including their functionality) and background of zoom slider needs to be
restored as before (see first screenshot when opening this ticket).

No, how would that be different than bug 106946, or earlier bug 36976 and
dupes. They are *all* about eliminating the viewport shift the contextual TBs
cause when opening in docked position. That is *NOT* a bug. That is a facet of
implementation, and changing it to do something different is an enhancement.

The context sensitive behavior of Toolbars (or the Sidebar Deck, or the NB
Toolbar) is hard coded deep in the source. Only how that signal is handled is
controlled by the UI mode.

Gaining control over that--via alternate UIs, or a control framework for
context sensitive action for individual toolbars--requries the same dev work.
Same goal of the dupes.

--- Comment #4 from Patrick McKinley  ---
On Windows 10 I renamed %APPDATA%\Roaming\LibreOffice to another name.
After restarting LO Calc and loading my test file it worked correctly.

It also fixed an annoying display issue I had experienced where the selected
cell rectangle overlapped the row boundary above and below whenever the row
heights were non-default in size.

So something in the user profile was causing several problems.

Since I did almost no customizations or changes to the profile before the
problem occurred this is surprising.

And I disagree with your statement that this is not a bug. Whenever a program
repeatedly crashes there is a bug somewhere. Perhaps the issue lies in the
user profile configuration data, but the program still crashes and from a user
point of view is not robust.

Maybe some kind of error checking on the user profile data, or a profile
cleaner, or something, is needed to prevent this kind of experience. I was
almost ready to walk away from LO due to these problems I experienced, and even
today I don't believe it was anything "weird" that I may have done to create
the issue on my part.

The thing is, this issue was opened mentioning the bug that auto-appearance
results in, while that issue is an enhancement. Seeing how the discussion here
has veered elsewhere, would you be ok with me opening a different issue
focusing _only_ the bugginess of the current situation, as a non-dupe?

Well, then, why did you suggest that as a potential solution? I'm confused.

Anyway, regardless of other UI modes, and whether or not toolbar popping should
be dropped in favor of their approaches - this bug is about the ability to
prevent toolbars from auto-appearing, period. And the default UI sorely needs
this as an option.

So, (V Stuart Foote or anyone else) - please confirm the bug and mark it NEW.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142704] New: what is %PRODUCTNAME?

2021-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142704

Bug ID: 142704
   Summary: what is %PRODUCTNAME?
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j22...@gmail.com

Description:
When using Track Changes in Writer, I want to have my own color. This means,
when I add text I need it to show in a given color. BUT, when another reviewers
makes changes, I want it to be a different color.
There is a set of options for this in Options->LibreOffice Writer->Changes
When I hover the cursor over the options (see image below) I see the message
"...When you choose the condition "By author" in the list, the color is
automatically determined by %PRODUCTNAME, then modified to match to the author
of each change"

1) So I want to explore this a bit more, what is (and where can I read about)
the paramter called '%PRODUCTNAME'?

2) is there a way to set eg RED for myself and "automatic" for the rest of the
reviewers?

Thanks for this amazing software!

https://i.ibb.co/Cb9W1xM/2021-06-07-13-10.png

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a writer document with any text
2. activate the track changes option
3. make a change in the document (eg insert any word)
4. you'll see with a given (automatic color)
5. but that color in particular is not convenient (for whatever reason -in my
case it is very close my document background color) so you need to have another
color assigned to you, while keeping the "different authors different color"
idea

Actual Results:
You can only choose between color "by author" (ie a color for each user who
makes changes in the document) or one color for (all) any author (ie if you
choose RED then changes by ANY user will always have the same chosen color, eg.
RED)

Expected Results:
I would like to chose a color for my current user (myself) but still have the
changes made by other in different colors (one color per user). So the idea
would be "one color per user, but please let me chose my user's color".

On Windows builds, the docoment opens read-only. Double click of the chart OLE
opens its dialog--changes attempted are not applied including the OLE object
dialog.  Document can't be saved.

Are you able to save the "edited" document, while in read-only mode? If not
either, then no I don't see an issue. Read-only is doing what it should.

All images disappeared after completion of manuscript. Text boxes and captions
remained but pictures were gone. Same problem in flash drive and external hard
drive backups when loaded back into this PC. Images are intact in a copy I
emailed to my son's laptop several weeks ago.
Manuscript was created with Version 6.2.8.2 (x64). Version 7.1.3.2 was

11% of couples will face infertility—the inability to conceive naturally after
one year of unprotected sexual intercourse. 1 Fertility is not only a female

For the Mincho font package, use fonts-noto-cjk or fonts-ipaexfont-mincho. This
is a popular font for Japanese.

Thanks for the advice. I changed that part and built it, but it seems to be
different.

I searched for it with git grep CJK_TEXT, and found
svx/source/svdraw/svdmodel.cxx:639. I changed CJK_TEXT to CJK_PRESENTATION in
that line, and it fell back to Gothic.

Removal from the Anchor context menus and TB split button was a little heavy
handed, but NAB.

Users needing a 'to Page' anchor (e.g. for laying out a large single page
poster) can customize and add the 'Anchor to Page' (.uno:SetAnchorToPage) to a
specific context menu object type--or to a generic Menu, Toolbar, NB, or a
Keyboard shortcut assignment.

Back to UX-Advise

IMHO a => WF is fair. Not too much to be gained by reverting, but some Help and
UG treatment is certainly now needed.

I spent some time testing and checking the current state of the possibilities
(see the attached report).
The operation can be performed in different ways and with different results.
Therefore I find it perhaps useless to prepare precise instructions until it is
defined what the developers of LO want to offer.
However, a correct IT translation of the current EN instructions would look
like this attached help (where modified parts are in italics).

I will try to have a look at it; unfortunately it is only downloading at
1.0-1.6MiB/sec for some reason, and so only 25% of the 256363 objects have been
received thus far.

Hopefully it will reproduce for me as well under x86_64, as I have been using
the 32-bit build as noted above and there is no bisect repository for that.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141495] CONFIGURATION = EOMONTH function corruption

2021-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141495

--- Comment #9 from Peter Johnson  ---
If it helps narrow down what's happening, I can say I've experienced this:
- only with the EOMONTH function
- only with xlsx files that are being synced with MS Sharepoint
- only with files that I know a colleague sometimes works on too, in his case
using MS Excel
- never if I edit the file in Excel; only if I use LO

So my assumption is that there is something about LO and Excel accessing a
shared file simultaneously that causes the conversion for this one function to
go wrong.

It is and it is functional now, but does need additional dev attention, e.g.
bug 142653.

> But that
> would mean completely disabling context-sensitivity of toolbars in the
> default UI mode and perhaps others.

Not at all, each is a specific UI selection that manages the contextual actions
as designed/implemented. When you select Contextual Single, the UI is a Single
toolbar that is recomposed depending on the object with actionable focus--it is
contextual. The other UI modes would be unaffected.

While in the 'Standard' UI traditional menu/TB/dialog UI the context sensitive
TB will still pop-up either docked or floating as you've configured each.

> Is that something you want?

MUFFIN assemblages (menu/XML TB/XML & GTK UI Sidebar/GTK UI NB) give a mix of
UI behaviors. Each treats the context sensitivity a bit differently. So yes.

No it is not. Reviewing the minidump crash reports [1] the details tabs show it
is Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 including the latest 10.0.19043 build, while the meta
tabs show it to affect both AMD & Intel CPU with a mix of AMD-Intel-nVidia
GPUs--so unlikely anything to do with Windows desktop environment settings.

Still the volume of incedents is relatively low, not clear what mechanisim is
causing this. It could be a LibreOffice locale (e.g. spellcheck/grammar check),
or externally a Windows helper/framework, or even an AV instance.

Would be nice if someone affected can run the bibisect process [2]
unfortunately I have been unaffected on six different Windows systems thus far
and can't.

LibreOfficeDev 7.2.0.0.alpha1 ec629c5ee22d02f99d66a5cf975ce239876b7f4d

There is an infinite loop at the following location because pFrame->FindNext()
is returning pFrame again:

The document here has an awkward construct on page 3 involving nested tables:
there is an outer table with a header row, in which is embedded an inner table
with all the real content which is longer than a page. I expect the author did
not intend to have that outer table, indeed it is hard to notice it exists in
the UI.

User can change setting/turn it off, so that's not a bug.
But many are not aware and it's annoying, so this enhancement.
No matter how we call it, it needs a dev to do it - even if seems like easy
hack.

OK. Maybe the fallbacks depend on system locale.

Thanks. I'll check if I can identify the cause.
