2021-08-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #4 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com ---
Still present in 7.2.0.3 and will then likely be in 7.2.0 final.

Maybe related to the following output that you get on the terminal:

QObject::setParent: Cannot set parent, new parent is in a different thread
QObject::setParent: Cannot set parent, new parent is in a different thread
QObject::startTimer: Timers cannot be started from another thread
QObject::setParent: Cannot set parent, new parent is in a different thread
QObject::killTimer: Timers cannot be stopped from another thread
QObject::startTimer: Timers cannot be started from another thread
QObject::installEventFilter(): Cannot filter events for objects in a different
thread.

The issue with this is that on certain actions you get the impression that some
LibO task is frozen. For UI having visual elements indicating that processing
is happening that to not work is unfortunately worse than not having them at
all.

Dear Simo Kaupinmäki,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111436] Allow external tools to interact with LibreOffice running inside Flatpak, include Java JARs

2021-08-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111436

Dear Dennis Schridde,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100391] FILESAVE PPTX Text in shape shifted from center to upper left corner

2021-08-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100391

The problem is likely in DrawingML::WritePolyPolygon() in line
mpFS->singleElementNS(XML_a, XML_rect, XML_l, "0", XML_t, "0", XML_r, "r",
XML_b, "b");

Idea for custom shapes: Get the SdrObject from XShape. Create
EnhancedCustomShape2d for the SdrObject. Use method
EnhancedCustomShape2d::GetTextRect(). I guess, that the rectangle has the same
scale as the polypolygon. It might need the same shift.

I see the same wrong position for texts in block arrows.

A sign debugging tool would be a good undertaking, but to be useful and
consistent, positive numbers displaying as 0 should also show their sign as
well, i.e. display as +0,00. If I want a debugging tool in my spreadsheet, I
prefer that this be a controllable option.

Furthermore, do not confound the debugging tool with a display convention for
signed numbers. I suggest appending the sign debugging indicator on the right
side of 0, so 0- or 0+.

If the sign debugging tool is off, just display 0 without a sign as the title
suggests, as this might be a report published for public consumption.

I can still reproduce this with 7.1.5.2.

You can't be following the repro steps correctly, because I can repro this

This bug has nothing to do with Master documents per se, it's just irritating
AF when USING a master document.

Help maintainability is a good thing. I advise to proceed in a slow pace
because this change will force retranslation of the concerned functions help
contents.

The weblate tool used by LibreOffice community has translation memory to help
the retranslation, however it the process is often dull.

I suggest to deliver one or 2 help file a month.

I apologize to the community - I was incorrect. This feature is still not
working in Linux.

I have just been able to upgrade to 7.1.5.2, and there is still no way to
access Special Characters in the Find & Replace dialog. The Special Characters
dialog is accessible while the Find & Replace dialog is open, but any character
selected will be inserted directly into the document rather than into a field
in Find & Replace.

Whether it the old way using a shortcut [Shift+Ctrl+s] or some other option
within the Find & Replace dialog, this capability is very handy. Otherwise, it
is back to the long way of typing out the inputs somewhere else that has access
to special characters and then copying and pasting.

Thank you!

 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rafael.palma.l...@gmail.com
CC: olivier.hal...@libreoffice.org

Hi! The "Text Functions" help page (link below) is composed of multiple
functions. Some of them have full descriptions in the help page [1] (some of
them are short and some are long), whereas other functions have their own
pages.

[1]
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.3/en-US/text/scalc/01/04060110.html?DbPAR=CALC#bm_id3145389

This causes some imbalance in the "Text Functions" help page and in my opinion
it looks a bit messy.

What I would like to propose is to create separate help pages for each function
and keep the "Text Functions" help page with the names of functions followed by
a short description, as it is currently done in some pages (e.g. the Tools page
[2])

[2]
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.3/en-US/text/swriter/main0106.html?=WRITER

This way, future update to the help files of each function will be more
organized IMO.

When running a quick-check of [French, English, and Mexican/Mexico.odt] in safe
mode, I did not see any wildly random languages from East/West Europe or Africa
appear.

But when all the text from [Mexico] is selected only Spanish (Mexico) appears
as an option in the [text language box].
When the cursor is placed within the Spanish (Mexico) text, Spanish (Spain)
re-appears as an additional language option in the [text language box].

I will attach both the PNG files and the ODT text file.
Thanks, Tracey
Just FYI, It appears that I can only attach one file at a time, but a link to
the webmaster does not appear to be available.

i have attached another screenshot with grid and ruler enabled. as you can see,
the cropped image on the foreground is not a problem. the background image
which is put at the back and half outside the viewport is the problem.

i have put a yellow dotted line which mimics how other softwares handle such
cases where a boundary is hidden behind an image. they show a dotted line to
indicate where the image is relative to the corners.

the problem is not to have a cropped image but
1. we can have images which i want only a part visible like the screenshot
attached with background image.
2. more importantly, if i paste another element on TOP of this image which has
the boundary hidden, there is no way to know for the top element where is the
boundary. see the second screenshot. the background is hiding two boundaries
and the top text box has no orientation where is the top left side of the
viewport so how can i arrange them? one option would be to show the boundary
when i move the element when it is closer to a boundary even if that boundary
is hidden like in this image but that is visible only when an element is
clicked or in movement. if the dashed yellow line in first screenshot were
visble when the original boundary was hidden somehow, that would solve the
problem

Please clarify the information from "The steps were also reproduced for the

rebooted again? Or did you add something to this file? Information that was

Thank you!

Unconfirmed?
I sent attachments showing -screen shots of languages that appear
randomly in the text language box.

I am editing documents with a mix of English and Spanish(Mexican/Mexico).
Trying to apply the applicable language for spell-checking purposes and it is
intensely frustrating when other languages randomly (pop-up / appear) in the
text language box shifting the "target" language to a different line/point in
the list 8-| g.

It is a random occurrence, but it does occur frequently.
Please advise.
Thanks, Tracey

That is a very special corner case and there is easy workarounds :
- type ctrl+Z when the first letter of the word is capitalized; that works for
any autocorrection that you do not want.
- insert a line with an blank character and without a period at its end before
the line starting with dd. Indeed the capitalization of the first character is
activated only if the new line follows a period that marks the end of the
previous paragraph.

For the change you propose, the gain is not worth the effort. So closing as
WontFix.

Best regards. JBF
