Dear trainais,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

2021-08-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144043

Bug ID: 144043
Summary: LibreOffice 7.2.4 is not even opening
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: amonet...@gmail.com

Description:
I just formatted my PC today and after installing all my drivers, I proceed to
install LibreOffice 7.2.4, after installing it, I reboot my PC, finally after
rebooting I open LibreOffice, and I just saw the splash window for a few
seconds, then it closed away.
I tried opening each application separately, and they also failed to open, well
Writer did open but after a few seconds it closed too.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times, and nothing changed, until I
reinstalled LibreOffice 7.1.4... then everything started to work normally.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install LibreOffice 7.2.4 on a windows 10 PC and reboot.
2.Run LibreOffice 7.2.4

Actual Results:
Install LibreOffice 7.2.4 didn't open completely, it just showed the splash
window for a few seconds and then it closes.

Expected Results:
I expect to run normally as it always does.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
It should work as it always does.

Bug ID: 144042

Created attachment 174504

Same text with same style, plus direct formatting or not

I use LibreOffice 7.1.5.2. for Fedora workstation 34. My file's default
language is French, and the languages of cells are defined by cell styles. I
have 2 extensions installed and working: Grammalecte (French language grammar
and spelling checker) and "Mongolian spelling and hyphenation dictionaries".

When I put some words in bold inside a cell by formatting them directly
(selection, then Ctrl + B), then all non-English words or the cell are
underlined in red by the spelling checker. Nevertheless, if I select any of
these underlined words and go to Format → Character... → Font, the displayed
language is correct.

I would of course expect that direct formatting would not affect the spelling
checker work, so that only mistakes would be underlined, whether or not some
words in the cells are formatted in bold.

You need no workaround but use named Autofilter.

Remove existing Autofilter.
Mark the area to which the filter should be applied. Menu Data > Define Range.
Enter Name, Add, OK.
Later, in case not already marked, go to Menu Data > Select Range.
After the area is marked, enable Autofilter by menu Data > Autofilter.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144041] New: "Edit points" tool is missing for custom shapes

2021-08-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144041

Bug ID: 144041
Summary: "Edit points" tool is missing for custom shapes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

If you draw a Bézier curve and export it to OOXML format, then the Bèzier curve
is exported as shape with custGeom. When you reopen the exported file, this
custGeom is imported as custom shape. Now you are no longer able to change
points of the curve.

The workaround to convert the custom shape to curve does not work in Writer and
gives not one object but two objects (outline and fill) in Draw/Impress.

This imported custom shape has in its path no references to equations or
adjustment values but only direct values. Therefore it could allow the same
handling as the "Edit Points" tool for Bézier curves.

MS Office has a "Edit Point" tool for the shapes.

My request: If a custom shape is not a preset shape and has a path with only
direct values, then provide a tool similar to the "Edit Points" toolbar to let
the user edit the points.

[Of cause a full editor for custom shape geometry would be a better, more
extensive solution.]

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82163] Fileopen: Draw cannot render embedded font in pdf

2021-08-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82163

That it always falls back to Libre Sans, basically a new Arial, for all missing
fonts is probably the worse crime than that it can't do enough with subset
fonts, although it's become better at matching letter height metrics than it
used to be. Horizontal metrics are still terrible, but more legible than
vertical overlap.

As long as we're still in enhancement mode, it would be nice if the fonts were
simply left alone until a block was actually unlocked to be edited. After all,
fonts can be embedded, and there are no restrictions on how many glyphs a font
requires.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.6.2 release
  Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: marjuanm@gmail.com

Description:
I have a presentation made in Impress, but when I send it to the client and he
opens it in Office it looks bad, I did the test using Office 2010 (Power Point)
and in fact, the text inside the PowerPoint text boxes does not respect line
breaks, the text is completely outside the defined area.

Actual Results:
Apparently Impress renders the document fine, but in Office it looks bad.

Expected Results:
That the final document was displayed correctly in Impress and Office.

Heiko/Xisco: any preference between "Calc Functions deck", "Functions deck

Remark: of course it could be an easyhack once the right string will be chosen
but I don't think it's good idea to wait for a beginner to tackle this one. I
think the sooner it's fixed, the better.

Another accidental discovery today. The issue also occurs if you have an IPP

on the RDP connection) and open a calc document. If you install the full driver
pack on the client, the remote server Libreoffice does not hang on document
load.

Perhaps but that solution works and is easy to use. Without changing the code.
For your solution, you have to select a part of the "word" and define its
language, then select the other part and define a different language.

My solution has another advantage: if you misspell this private word, LO warn
you. With your solution, if you wrote "sull'Internationnal" you will not be
warned.

==
Have a look at my locale settings above.

No matter, if I use a constant with decimal POINTS or a numeric property of an
object, that numeric values are converted - in my case to German format with
decimal COMMA.
The problem in this case is: I use that kind of values in a SQL statement
inside the macro, which leads to misinterpretation. (see my attached Database
with macro in it.
==
WORKAROUND: using the "replace" function to replace comma by point.
BUT: I have to handle every possible locale setting
==
SUGGESTION: Inside a macro the format of numbers should always convert to
internal native format by default. For converting to locale format there should
be a conversion function.

Have a look at the macro in the attachment

If I'm not wrong because the initial production to print is with page style,
the printer set up don't change that. Only change the orientation on the page
to print.

You can see that when playing the Orientation in print box, It changes page
orientation but not what is printing.

We perfectly support silent installation. What we don't support is silent
installation under non-elevated rights. Which is OK, since being able to
install to a restricted directories like Program Files from non-elevated rights
is a security breach.

Winget packager needs to issue a warning that winget needs to be run from admin
console. Or it needs a complete repackage, as portable installers do, to
install to a user directory.

But it looks like the winget project has no support for "non-silent" installs
[1], which we know is not the LO way.

"All tools must support a silent install. If you have an executable that does
not support a silent install, then we cannot provide that tool at this time."

To support winget, what would packaging for a silent LO install entail?

Guess this really is NOTOURBUG (as built the TDF Community build installers can
not do a silent install), right?

install is our MSI packaging.

There have been a number of folks reporting a MSI #1603 error [1] against an LO

winget is so new, is there some tweak we need to apply to the packaging that

And indeed, the package defines "/qn" installer switch, which means "no UI

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143482] Make it easier to open Master Document subdocuments

THe ability to open a document without being forced to use the navigator.

This is the current workflow, for example:

* I am looking for a term, say "global research"
* Do a search
* When the term is located, I want to open that subdocument and edit it
* I right-click on the master document
* Then I select "Edit section"
* It sends me to the Navigator and then I have to double click to open the
subdocument
* Repeat the search
* Now, I can finally edit.

What I want it to look like.

Option 1

* I am looking for a term, say "global research"
* Do a search
* When the term is located, I right-click on the master document
* Then I select "Open section" (this does not exist)
* Open the subdocument at the current location

Option 2

* I am looking for a term, say "global research"
* Do a search
* When the term is located, I start typing
* I get a popup that says: "This document cannot be modified."
* The popup has an "edit subdocument" option that I can click and be sent to
the current location in the subdoc.

So, just to be clear: everything is there. I just want it to be more
streamlined. I want an improvement to the user experience.

It doesn't matter if winget is from MS or not. What does matter is that winget
uses a community-managed repository [1], where some volunteer had committed
LibreOffice data [2]. You should file bugs there, subscribing the author of the
package data to the issue.

Resolving NOTOURBUG (feel free to set back to UNCONFIRMED if it is discovered

> Regina, what do you think?

Make sure you use an object from the toolbar "Legacy Circles and Ovals". Enable
Grid. Set (temporarily) the subdivision of the grid to 1 so that snapping is
better visible. Enable "Snap to grid".

Select "Circle" tool. Draw a circle by dragging from left-top to bottom-right.
Notice how the size jumps to the grid point.

Now hold down the Alt-key from before dragging until after dragging. You will
now draw the circle starting from circle center. Notice that the size of the
circle changes continuously and does not snap to the next grid point.

If it is not a bug, it is surely a valid enhancement request, that holding down
Alt-key should not disable "snap to grid".

The Alt-key for creating and resizing from center works for all shapes but
custom shapes. That is a bug 76073.

The Shift-key generally toggles the "fixed ratio width to height" behavior and
can be combined with the Alt-key.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144036] New: New icon needed for the UNO Object Inspector

Bug ID: 144036
Summary: New icon needed for the UNO Object Inspector
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rafael.palma.l...@gmail.com

LibreOffice 7.2 introduced the new UNO Object Inspector, which currently can be
accessible only via the menubar (Tools - Development Tools).

While fixing Bug 141591 to add support for the tabbed interface (notebookbar),
I noticed that the command .uno:DevelopmentToolsDockingWindow does not have an
associated icon.

See the attached image for more information. The image shows the current status
of the patch, where no image is displayed for the command.

Is there work going on concerning the creation of an icon for the Object
Inspector?

Maybe there's already an icon that can be used?

To me this feels like having the same root cause as bug 66791, i.e. LO is
treating the opening quotation mark following an English character as English
text, therefore not applying the necessary operation needed by CJK text. In
this case, using the vertical form of the punctuation, and in 66791's case,
using the specified CJK font.

I attached the ODS file with the chart. In LO even if I activate the chart and
point the mouse to a value point, it only shows the data series name, not the
value nor the point number.

However, if I open this ODS file in Excel (I did not even convert it to XLSX),
it does show a tooltip with the point number and value.

I believe this is a feature worth adding to LO as well.

Hi Heiko. I agree that this may be NAB but an enhancement request.

However i think WF wouldn't be suitable here. It is hard to explain to new
users that if he/she selects a color and then applies a border, the selected
color won't be applied. Any new user will see this as a bug.

If you test the same behavior in Excel (see attached video) you can select a
color and then apply it to as many borders as you want. This is the behavior
most users will expect.
