[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75627] General number format change leads to inconsistent/lost formatting

Dear tmacalp,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Dear Robert Großkopf,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144138] No IFERROR in latest version of calc installed with korean language.

LibreOffice Calc function names can be localized, and some languages do
translate them, most likely to be consistent with the function names used by
Excel.

It seems Korean just uses the English names. However, the Korean translator(s)
didn't choose to leave the string untranslated, and decided to copy the
original English strings to translated Korean strings, and made a mistake for
IFERROR -- The Korean translation is ISERROR, IS instead of IF:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/formulamessages/ko/?checksum=be6e9e14c0a6a28d

I don't have the Weblate permission to change the Korean translation though.
Julien, I assume you do, and would you please make the change? Thanks.

The workaround, besides re-installation with English UI, is switching to
English function names. The option is available at Tools > Options >
LibreOffice Calc > Formula > Formula Options > Use English function names.

"tdf#134174 Fix the rotation of bitmap filled custom shapes."

Previously the rotated shape was mispositioned, it had an overlay of the
unrotated LO logo (which didn't get lost on RT). This itself is a regression,
and before the following commit in 6.2, the rotated logo looked correct.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143764

Tried it again so I could video it. Seems that scrolling is 1) very sensitive
and 2) jumps instead of smoothly scrolling. Being new to the app it seemed to
be way too fast compared to other apps I have used over the years.

If I am very gentle with the mouse it only jumps a fifth of the page at a time.
Over-sensitivity and jumping are certainly not as refined as one would hope
but, now that I am aware of it, it is serviceable.

Thanks

No, cut/copy & paste are not the same in this enhancement request and in the
bug report #143813.
This enhancement is related to the subheads while #143813 is related to
cut/copy & paste of any selected portion of text.

Update of 7.2.1.1:

LINUX WORKS:

Same computer, dual booted into Zorin 16 Linux. Updated 7.1.6.1 to 7.2.1.1.
This was not straight forward as the standard purge did not eliminate a 7.1.5
Zorin update to Libre Office core. Using Synaptic I eliminated the remainder
of the Zorin Libre office core update. I then updated to 7.2.1.1. The file
opened and I was able to access the 880,000 row table, confirm the total rows,
confirm the amount check total, perform a simple query and save changes.

BACK TO WINDOWS 10:

I rebooted into windows and attempted to have 7.2.1.1 open the file I had just
accessed in Linux -- it crashed.

After the problems in Linux updating to 7.2.1.1 I decided to do a fresh
install. I uninstalled 7.2.1.1 and cleaned the registry, rebooted, and did a
clean install -- when I attempted to access the file, 7.2.1.1 crashed.

It appears there is something about Windows 10, my configuration and/or
Firebird for Windows that may be causing the crash.

I note that I have copied over my Windows Libre Office configuration file to
Linux and while there may be some differences the files are substantially the
same.

I missed the relevance/meaning of this useful bit of info:

// mbParaSpaceMaxAtPages def = false, true since SO8

So it sounds like at the introduction of the variable, it was set to false, but
it has been true since StarOffice 8 (or something like that).

likely from commit 45de8eb0c980f308b668aba9bcdb8f839eaafc38
Author: Kurt Zenker on Mon Aug 2 13:33:08 2004 +

A visual inspection suggests that Businesscard-with-logo doesn't need this
obsolete setting. So I suggest
git grep -l AddParaTableSpacingAtStart *{.fodt,.xml} | xargs sed -i
/AddParaTableSpacingAtStart/d

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144135] New: Calc causes repeatable fatal crash when I attempted to sort columns

2021-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144135

Bug ID: 144135
Summary: Calc causes repeatable fatal crash when I attempted to
sort columns
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dpkesl...@gmail.com

Description:
Was trying to sort an 8 x 7550 on two columns, my machines immediately locked
up. After power button holddown, shutdown and restart. Tried that same sort
again... crashed again. An error report was supposedly sent to you as indicated
by a pop-up dialogue.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a 8 x 7500 table.
2.Sort on two columns, one is text, another is floating point number.
3.

Actual Results:
Machine screen freezes, will not accept input from mouse, touchpad, or
keyboard. Displays "not responding" message in the title bar.

Expected Results:
not crashed

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
This is not a "Normal" bug, but a rather major bug. And this is the second
MAJOR bug I've encountered with Calc in the past couple weeks... both involving
machine-freezing behavior. I am going to backout 7.2.0.4 and reload 7.1.5 in
hope of returning to reliable operation. I fully understand 7.2 is bleeding
edge as described, but I expected paper cuts... not fatal wounding.

with the size of the screen.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rods...@gmail.com

Description:
When setting the user interface to "Tabbed" and changing the horizontal size of
the LibreOffice window (in Writer, Impress, Calc, etc) the tabs shrink instead
of filling more of the empty space beside them. This leads to a bunched up
interface that should simply be spreading out across the empty space beside it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set User Interface to Tabbed
2. Decrease the horizontal size of the window from full screen to something
less than that.
3. Tabs should become smaller and bunched up

Actual Results:
Tabs became bunched up taking the same percentage of space as before, but
having much more visually constrained tabs making it more difficult for touch
users.

Expected Results:
Tabs would occupy the empty space to the right of them instead of shrinking.

Reproducible: Always

Zotero isn't running. I only have it running when I am working with
references.

No Java tools or LanguageTools. In fact, Preferences/Advanced is greyed-out and
you can't select a Java JVM!

The next time it hangs, I will try to get a stack trace.

I switched back to the Apple Silicon version and edited it for 2 hours today.
It didn't hang once, but it did crash while I was adjusting the page sizes. It
was on the 9th page-size adjustment--- not every time. That was the only crash.

When I exited out of one file, the other two open files required recovery. So
they must have also crashed---but I got no notice.

I will continue to backup regularly and use the Apple Silicon version while
trying to capture what I was doing when it hangs or crashes next.

that looks like a different bug altogether...

the problem in GS72.pdf starts on page 24, the "Parts of the window" goes to
the correct location but next item "Displaying" is too short by 4 pages ...
actually some content is duplicated there? yes, the 4 pages are duplicate
content, page 21-24 duplicated on page 25-28.

however i haven't had any luck with trying to reproduce this problem either in
multiple attempts with master, a self-built 7.1, and the 7.1.5.2 release.

how do you create these PDFs, you use File->Export menu like a normal user, not
anything fancy?

As far as I know, I do not have any User (Python) Extensions. But I do seem to
have a DMath option. I don't know if this an extension or part of the normal
distribution. Sigh. About 10-years ago I tried to do something with DMath and
some other math extensions. Could this be the issue?

I have done the following:
[1] Help->Restart in Safe Mode
a. Initially, I was able to load .odt, .ods, and .odg files.
b. Tools->Options->Advances and the system crashed. Unable to restart.
[2] Downloaded and reinstalled 7.2.04
a. I was able to load .odt, .ods, and .odg files.
b. "Recent Files" correctly showed the loaded files.
c. I was able to scan (arrow down key) all options in Tools->Options.

It appears to work but, there is a "Help->Restart in Safe Mode" but not
"Help->Restart in Unsafe Mode". How do I return to normal mode to see if the
issues has resolved?

If the problem reoccurs in "Unsafe" mode, how can I isolate the issue further;
to a Python extension or other.

PS: A superficial look seems to say "Great Job", indeed, outstanding!

@Roman Kuznetsov - all debs in the .tar were installed, but not using dpkg. I
used dpkg-deb -x to extract the files into a private "parallel install"

The script I use essentially does this:

mkdir /lotest/7.3.0.0.alpha0

rm -rf /tmp/td
mkdir /tmp/td
(cd /tmp/td && tar xf
../master~2021-08-26_09.43.29_LibreOfficeDev_7.3.0.0.alpha0_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz)
find /tmp/td -name '*.deb' -print0 | xargs -I'{}' -0 dpkg-deb -x '{}'
/lotest/7.3.0.0.alpha0

...and repeated the above to install offline help files from
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@86-TDF/2021-08-26_09.43.29/master~2021-08-26_09.43.29_LibreOfficeDev_7.3.0.0.alpha0_Linux_x86-64_deb_helppack_en-US.tar.gz

SDBC n'a été trouvé pour l'URL 'jdbc:postgresql://127.0.0.1:5435/lotest'.

3. No access to JDBC driven database data

Actual Results:
See above

Expected Results:
As with the x86_64 version, database access should continue to be supported
unfettered.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144129] New: LibreOffice Base - Impossible to create or open a HSQLDB embedded ODB file.

2021-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144129

Bug ID: 144129
Summary: LibreOffice Base - Impossible to create or open a
HSQLDB embedded ODB file.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: ARM
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ipla...@tuta.io

Description:
With the ARM version for Mac, there is no way to either create or load data
from an embedded HSQLDB file.

The only choice is embedded Firebird, forcing an experimental, not yet fit for
purpose as an embedded DB onto the user.

Any attempt to load and read tables in an embedded HSQLDB ODB file leads to the
following error :

Impossible d'établir une connexion à la source de données externe. Aucun pilote
SDBC n'a été trouvé pour l'URL 'sdbc:embedded:hsqldb'.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice
2. Try to create a new embedded database. Only Firebird is proposed.
3. Try to load an existing HSQLDB embedded database.
4. Try to access any table in the embedded HSQLDB database.
5. Error message : Impossible d'établir une connexion à la source de données
externe. Aucun pilote SDBC n'a été trouvé pour l'URL 'sdbc:embedded:hsqldb'.

Actual Results:
See above
This is due to missing Java support.

Expected Results:
JAVA based databases, including any access to other backends over JDBC should
be supported.

This is a regression over the current x86_64 version.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice

Actual Results:
No JDk is selectable in the Advanced Panel, making both the panel and much of

I'm sorry for being unclear. I meant that in its checked state, the behavior of
the feature is inconsistent (meaning, one can't say that it does what it needs
to do to be compatible). Hence I confirmed that this is a bug. Maybe just
stating the obvious, sorry :)
