Bug 144350 is about making the message box ("You can't do this") actionable
(Open linked document) while this bug discusses the ability to open a linked
document from within the sections dialog.

> what should the dialog contain) in *this* case?

If the context doesn't apply, hide the control. So if the confirmation box
starts from a write-protected field, we don't show the action button to load
the document. If the action is temporarily not available, in this case when the
selection includes different sources ion ctrl+A, we disable it.

Of course, we have to consider whether the effort justifies the benefit.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144350] Allow to open linked documents when trying to edit protected sections

2021-09-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144350

Created attachment 175229
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=175229=edit
A master document filled with ordinary write-protected content

In the attachment:

1. There is a ToC that by default protects its content.
2. A field. The document has field protection enabled. So selecting the field
and trying to overwrite will fail.
3. A table with protected cells.
4. A protected section.

All these are in the master document itself, not in some linked document.

Trying to modify those will give the same dialog. And what's more, selecting
all (Ctrl+A) and pressing Del will give the same dialog, too - so what would be
the intended workflow (what should the dialog contain) in *this* case?

Dear Robert Gonzalez MX,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127719] Writer comments flicker when hovering mouse over name / date+time

2021-09-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127719

Dear Roman Kuznetsov,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Instead of load the file directly, open it on a sheet with a link to it.

Menu/Sheet/Insert sheet from file, marking the link option.
Menu/Sheet/Link to external data, where you can set up an interval time to
update the data.

I don't think you can update in the OS a file already open. So if the file is
already open as such by LibreOffice, no change can be detected because it is
not changed. Maybe you think it has changed, but I think no way.

I don't find out there is a bug.

The Bookmark bracket [ & ] toggle +F10 was done for bug 45589

But with the work still needed for bug 58434 to sort out the NPC and formatting

Possibly the Field related toggle highlight with +F8, and expand the URI

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144666

There's no backtrace in your file so we can't do anything with it.

So 7.0.3 crashes with gtk3 and 7.1.6 crashes with kf5.
BTW, I consider https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ ok for Windows
or MacOs but for Linux, it's more for distrib repository maintainers.
Indeed, dependencies must be taken into account.

I think either you try again to retrieve a backtrace. (There shouldn't be "No
stack" in it) or uninstall all LO versions from TDF and from your repository +
clean you LO profile, then upgrade to last LTS Ubuntu (20.04) and install again
LO from Ubuntu repo.

Ok LO 7.1.5 works well for you.

But does LO 7.1.6 work well by applying what Ming indicated here

This was indeed NOTABUG. As GerardF mentioned in comment 3, ISLEAPYEAR expects
a *date* as its argument, while Louie used calculation like '=ISLEAPYEAR(2021)'
to learn is 2021 was a leap year. The correct calculation would be e.g.
'=ISLEAPYEAR("2021-01-01")'.

  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

1. Enter number '-292127' in A1, and format as a date
   => it will show 1100-02-29
2. In B1, put formula '=ISLEAPYEAR(A1)'
   => it will show FALSE

The problem is that the date is before introduction of Gregorian calendar
(1582-10-15); the serial dates from that period are displayed using Julian
calendar, but ISLEAPYEAR uses proleptic Gregorian calendar to determine if the
year is leap.

Created attachment 175226

Screencast Showing Auto Filter Popup Without Any Function

There seems to be a major functionality regression in LibreOffice 7.2.1.2,
module Calc:

Version: 7.2.1.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 20(Build:2)
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.11; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Ubuntu package version: 1:7.2.1~rc2-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~lo3
Calc: threaded

The auto filter popup seems to be without any function. Trying to click
anything in it just closes/dismisses the popup again without invoking any
action.

See the attached screen recording for a demonstration. Seems to be reliably
reproducible anytime with any sheet.

This seems to render auto filters completely useless in this version.

Desktop is KDE 5 with kwin / X11.

We have two errors here:
DOCX Import: The second level is set to show all levels (ODF
text:display-level="2"), but the OOXML format string has only %2 and not %1.
DOCX Export: The format string is totally wrong. In ODF it is
loext:num-list-format="[000%1%], but in OOXML is becomes [%1000].

The wrong format string on export is created too, if you start with a new
document. The export error does not happen, if the prefix string has only
letters and not digits.

Ok so not SKIA related.

For backtrace, I don't know if Visual Studio 2019 helps, perhaps it depends on
the modules you installed, anyway you need above all Windbg as indicated in the

Concerning accessibility, I mean specific zoom, high contrast, computer screen

I know nothing about Tibetan, but in my testing with the above text in Writer,
and searching for "བླང་" using the "Edit > Find and Replace..." dialog (Ctrl+H),
I get 4 results when "Diacritic-sensitive" options is not selected (click
"Other options" if you can't find it in the dialog), and get 0 results when
"Diacritic-sensitive" option is selected.

Looks very reasonable to me. If this is not the desired result, please
elaborate (what search feature did you use, what options did you choose, and
what is the correct search result?).

The latest version of Calc (7.2.1.2) is so slow that it is now unusable. It is
installed on a Windows 10 AMD 64 bit with 16GB of main memory. It takes several
seconds for a single typed character to show up in a cell. The spreadsheet has
no significant calculations, in relatively small (5 columns, about 200 rows).
In an alternative spreadsheet program I have (not Microsoft) there is no
slowness at all. Clearly a bug of some kind.

Skia uses the OpenGL code path (as far I'm aware). GDI known the blink. So
focus in OpenGL.. [didn't try a Linux backend yet]
