[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 153136] New: Lines with spaces have wrong height in DOCX

2023-01-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153136

Bug ID: 153136
Summary: Lines with spaces have wrong height in DOCX
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: filter:docx
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

Created attachment 184813
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=184813=edit
Large space characters

The attachment has three pages, each of them listing the Unicode characters
from 'Separator, Space' category [Zs]. The first page uses normal paragraphs,
the second and the third have tables with them. The space characters are
formatted with text size 48, while labels have size 12.

In Word, some paragraphs on the first and the second pages have resulting
height corresponding to text size 12, ignoring the height of space characters
on them. These lines are marked red. On the third page, all table rows have
automatic heights corresponding to text size 48.

This is related to the IgnoreTabsAndBlanksForLineCalculation compat flag.

2023-01-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153135

Bug ID: 153135
Summary: Clicking on Master Slides in side bar does not open
pane
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.6.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rob...@iafrica.com

Description:
If I click on the masters icon, nothing happens, but I can drag it open.
Works as it should in v7.3.7.2

Steps to Reproduce:
1. copy a slide from another odp
2. click on icon in side pane
3. nothing happens

Actual Results:
side pane should open up showing all masters, so I can than apply the new
master to the slides and delete the old masters (which may include old or
flawed styles)
However, I can drag the pane handle to open it

Expected Results:
Side pane should open up, as it does when I click on any of the other icons.

Bug ID: 153133
Summary: Libreoffice Crashes with Youtube runnng
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.0.0 alpha0+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bluebell...@gmail.com

Description:
Libreoffice started crashing when using Calc and Writer. Generally I have two
windows of either one or the other open and Youtube streaming in the
background. Because it is streaming I can hear the music shuddering as Calc or
Word struggles with a command (usually something very basic like scroll) and
then shuts down. This is very unusual behaviour. Just happened again now with
4/5 docs open and windows.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run Youtube with a video streaming music or whatever
2.Open Writer or calc and using the square thingy next to the X on the top
right of the window arrange on one side of screen or have more than one doc
open
3.Open another Writer doc and arrange on the other side of screen
4. Do somethng like scroll page.

Actual Results:
I dont know what your're asking for here

Expected Results:
It might crash. Its not a set series of steps. The only consistent element is
Youtube streaming in the background. Thats how I know its about to crash.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Just kept doing its thing. Its only a problem since Dec 2022. I run the
latest software of everything.

Dear Juergen Funk (CIB),

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 153129] leader arrow of comment in Calc shows increasing offset with increasing row number

2023-01-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Strange, I never changed the row height from the default value to begin with.

This trick does not solve it for me (the issue persists): adding 0.11mm to the
optimum height even reverses the offset so the arrow points to a cell above the
one containing the comment.

It just should not happen, no matter what row height is selected.

Detail: if the comment is set to show permanently, the display is correct, it's
just the popup that is wrong.

Might I suggest a kludge?

How about an option that will allow us to highlight every nth row (give us the
option, we put in a number); and then we select a color.

On the same panel, we can have the same options for columns, a) every nth
column, in b) a selected color.

Copying text from a file and placing it in search should ALWAYS then result in
a successful search, that finds the copied text. It does not in LibreOffice
Writer if the copied text includes a paragraph return mark, even if View is set
to show these marks. It is an insanely annoying bug because it is especially
things like line endings that are difficult to code for a search due to
inconsistent use across apps of how to show a paragraph mark - depending on the
app it might be $, \r, ^p or something else.

Steps to Reproduce:
The use case here is, for a YouTube transcript, replace the paragraph mark
before the timecode with a space. In doing that, I encountered a general
problem with Find.

1.Write something with a few paragraph marks like this (copied from a YouTube
Transcript):
whenever I use these systems, I always feel myself yearning for more artistic
0:55
control. I want to specify the pose for these characters.

2. For clarity on the problem setup, in the above, there should be a paragraph
return before and after the 0:55. In LibreOffice Writer, enable View of
Formatting Marks. The text should show paragraph marks shown at the end of each
line (i.e. after 'artistic' and after '0:55'.) No other formatting marks appear
in the document.

3. Select and then copy the following text in 1: artistic
0:55
control

4. Open Edit - Find and Replace. Click Regular Expressions. Paste the copied
text in the Find box. Note it does not show the paragraph marks.

5. Press Find Next. Note that it will not find the phrase (search key not
found).

6. Put $ in for the paragraph marks in the pasted text in the Find box (i.e.
after artistic and after 0:05, so we now have in the Find box:
artistic$0:55$control
Press Find Next. Note that it will not find the phrase (search key not found).

7. Put $[0-9] in the Find field. Press Find Next. Note that it will not find
the phrase (search key not found).

Actual Results:
See 4., 5., 6., and 7. above.

Expected Results:
4. I expected it to show the paragraph marks using the special search code for
paragraph marks, so I could hit Find Next and it would find the copied text in
the document, without me having to make any changes to the text pasted in the
Find box

5. I expected it to find the phrase in the document.

6. I expected there to be no need to manually add special codes to be able to
find the copied text. I also expected - in its current form where I need to add
special codes - that once I add the special code for paragraph mark ($), it
will find the copied text in the document.

7. I expected it to find target (0:55) in the document.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33603] Presenter notes should be available in normal view as a scrolling pane

2023-01-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33603

--- Comment #40 from nicholasj...@mailfence.com ---
Is this the right place to enter a feature request that Impress show notes by
default in presenter view, or at least have an option to show those notes by
default?

At present, having to switch on the notes is an extra step that one has to go
through before one can use Impress effectively. It is an extra step that one
expects to see those notes. One expects it for two reasons: (1.i) people write
notes so that they can see them when presenting; (1.ii) if one is used to
PowerPoint (from which indeed one might have imported one slides.

A further reason that having to switch on the notes is an _extra_ step (or
hurdle) obtains (like 1.ii) if one is importing from PowerPoint. Today it is
still the case that Impress garbles some PowerPoint presentations. Thus, after
fixing those problems, one still has to . . remember to switch on the note
view.

Bumping this - I just had a sheet shared from a friend and warned him there's
an issue in his calcs not lining up; transpired it's from LOCalc mangling it
when it works fine in Excel.

If this is still not supported, that it what it is, but this is potentially a
serious point of cross-platform failure (and thus another stick to beat Linux
with). Therefore please could this be prioritised to be fixed if now fixable,
or, in the interim (either if not fixable or if fixable with a load of work and
thus a load of time), can we have something that alerts the user, rather than
silently corrupting the data?

Proposals:
1. data & headers in right place but static pasted, not dynamic. Whole pivot
section has a comment around it with the generic warning inc pointing to this
bug URL.

2. whole pivot section replaced with a block of red background. Each cell or
whole section has the same comment per 1.
