2023-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155679

Bug ID: 155679
Summary: I suggest adding a Speaker Coach feature to
LibreImpress that provides real-time and personalized
feedback on the user’s speaking skills during a
presentation or a meeting.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rameznade...@gmail.com

Description:
I would like to suggest a new feature for LibreImpress that is similar to the
Microsoft Speaker Coach, which is a tool that provides private and personalized
feedback on how to improve your speaking skills during a presentation or a
meeting. This feature would be very useful for LibreImpress users who want to
practice their presentation skills, avoid common pitfalls, and deliver more
effective and engaging presentations.

The feature would work as follows:

- The user can turn on the Speaker Coach option before or during a presentation
or a meeting in LibreImpress.

- The Speaker Coach would analyze the user's speech and provide real-time
insights and suggestions on the screen, such as:

  - Pacing: The Speaker Coach would monitor the user's speaking speed and alert
them if they are speaking too fast or too slow.
  - Pitch: The Speaker Coach would measure the user's pitch variation and alert
them if they are speaking in a monotone voice or with too much inflection.
  - Filler words: The Speaker Coach would detect the user's use of filler
words, such as "um", "uh", "like", "you know", etc., and alert them to reduce
them.
  - Informal speech: The Speaker Coach would detect the user's use of informal
speech, such as slang, contractions, abbreviations, etc., and alert them to use
more formal language if appropriate for the context.
  - Euphemisms: The Speaker Coach would detect the user's use of euphemisms,
such as "passed away", "let go", "downsized", etc., and alert them to use more
direct and clear language if appropriate for the context.
  - Culturally sensitive terms: The Speaker Coach would detect the user's use
of culturally sensitive terms, such as racial, ethnic, gender, religious, etc.,
and alert them to use more inclusive and respectful language if appropriate for
the context.
  - Wordiness: The Speaker Coach would detect the user's use of overly wordy or
redundant expressions, such as "in order to", "due to the fact that", "at this
point in time", etc., and alert them to use more concise and simple language.
  - Slide reading: The Speaker Coach would detect if the user is reading the
text on the slides verbatim and alert them to paraphrase or summarize the main
points instead.

- The insights and suggestions would be only visible to the user and not saved
in recorded transcripts or shared with other participants.

- After the presentation or meeting ends, the user would receive a summary
report that includes statistics and recommendations on how to improve their
speaking skills based on their performance.

I think this feature would be a great addition to LibreImpress and would help
many users improve their presentation skills and confidence. Thank you for
considering my suggestion.

A feature like what they have on Word where they have a mic icon and you can
click on it and dictate into your microphone. Transcribing your speech. I was
looking at different AI Models that could possibly handle this sort of task. I
think with the increase in computing power, I could be mistaken but I don't
think an API would be necessary. I think the calculations could be done on a
users computer to do pretty accurate speech recognition. We see this is the
past with programs like Dragon naturally speaking.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123190

Dear Regina Henschel,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Dear Telesto,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

An OpenAI service would by nature not be implemented on the client system, but
like the current LanguageTool hooks the project could pass control to an
external processing service with published API.

However, there is no UAA interface supporting speech-to-text nor
text-to-speech, meaning any "handling" would need to be provided by extension
of the os/DE--and for that there is no standard.

Like LanguageTool's AI this would need to be done by extension--and any TDF dev
effort to implement would be out of scope. Kind of wonder what the LanguageTool
take on the Whisper OpenAI will be.

Summary: BASIC runtime error. Argument is not optional.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

On startup LibreOffice opens a page full of BASIC macros. In [My Macros &
Dialogs].AncientGreek->Registry. The code that seems to be causing the problem
is:
If IsMissing(isPath) then
If not isPath then <-- this line is highlighted
GetMyRegistryValue = sRegVal
Exit Function
End If
End If

I acknoledge the error, close the window and everything appears to be working
correctly, but I am not editing Greek at the moment. (FWIW Hebrew appears
fine.)

I noticed that the initial file selection menu doesn't open until after the
macros windows is closed.

The comment behaves the same as the similar 'callout' text box shape, only that
the tail tip is fixed.

LO 7.6 (August 23) will allow to set the formatting properties of comments in
the style section in the sidebar. That will allow to set the "Fit width to
text" property before creating a comment. The default setting is, that "Fit to
text" is disabled for width and enabled for height.

It is nowhere possible to use the resize-handles while editing the text in the
shape. You can only determine in the shape style whether the shape itself
adapts to the text and in which way. Changing the behavior so that edit mode
and resize/drag mode are mixed, would be far-reaching. I doubt, that developers
will touch it without a really very good reasoning. So for me this request is a
"wontfix". But that is my personal opinion and therefore I will not change the
Status.

So, one request per bug report. Don't ask for "all sorts of accessibility
features". If you want N features, open N bugs. Also - make all of them depend
on the accessibility meta-bug, bug 101912.

Now, about "offline speech to text" - what exactly do you mean by "offline"? Do
you want LO to be able to import audio files, extracting the speech in them as
text? If not - please be much more concrete in your description.

Open Expert Configuration dialog, search for FontsUseWinMetrics, edit it but
don’t necessarily change anything, save. Close LibreOffice and open again and
try one of the fonts set in FontsUseWinMetrics, notice that now the undesired
line metrics are used.

I believe this is because of the use of comma as a separator, since the setting
type is oor:string-list which seems to be configured by the dialog as a comma
separated list, so when saving back:

Celticmd,1571,-567,1571,-547,2126,559

becomes

I'm wondering if Libra office can add accessibility features like offline
speech to text and text to speech. I noticed the whisper model also not only
does speech recognition but translation and it automatically entered grammar.
You can find this at huging face https://huggingface.co/openai/whisper-large-v2

people with disabilities and it will also help with privacy if you can do

> Khaled, what do you think?

No idea about the lost justification settings, but the line metrics issue can
be explained. For historical reasons, fonts have three sets of line spacing
settings. The font has two of them equal to each other (Windows GDI will select
one of these, and older versions of LibreOffice got the values from Windows
GDI), and the last set has smaller line spacing.

We end up using that last set for complicated reasons and we don’t want to
touch this code anymore because whatever the way we change it will break some
font.

We have an escape hatch where we can specify that certain fonts should use the
values that Windows GDI uses, so we can do this here. Users should be able to
do this yourself from the expert configuration dialog (search for
FontsUseWinMetrics), but this is currently broken and works only for fonts
already specified in the configuration.

I suggest keeping this bug to track the line metrics issue, and open a new one
for the lost justification setting.

If the Java was OK for the older 7.4 version, wouldn't it be a regression if

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155674

Bug ID: 155674
Summary: MAILMERGE: next record hides all fields during edit
(output result is OK)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: luizl...@gmail.com

Description:
Hello,

I created a simple ods named data, a single sheet tb1 with Field1, Field2 and
Field3

field1 field2 field3
a 1 !
b 2 @
c 3 #

And then I used it in a writer doc:

Num: Field1: Field 2:
 Field 3:
Num: Field1: Field 2:
 Field

When I generate the final doc, I do get the right output:

Num: 1 Field1: a Field2: 1 Field3: !

Num: 2 Field1: b Field2: 2 Field3: @

Num: 3 Field1: c Field2: 3 Field3: #

But when I'm editing it and select a record using the maildirect toolbar, I
get:

Num: 1 Field1: a Field2: 1 Field3: !

Num: 1 Field1: Field2: Field3: !

With record number repeating the last one used and all other fields empty.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create any mail merge doc with two records per page
2. see the problem

Actual Results:
I cannot preview the multiple records

Expected Results:
It should look like the final output when I merge the records

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Reproduced with version 7.3 as well.

This is how the font is designed, when two capital Greek letters are next to

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131098] OOXML .docx Image Fill Not Imported

2023-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131098

Reading the fill from the source in oox is correct. It gets lost in
writerfilter/source/dmapper/GraphicImport.cxx

If I add the following in
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/writerfilter/source/dmapper/GraphicImport.cxx?r=3eb90b33#865
and the needed #include at the top,
then I get the shape fill color. But this is not a complete solution, because
it does not consider FillGradient, FillTransparenceGradient, FillTransparence
and not theme colors. But is shows that GraphicImport.cxx is likely the correct
place to fix the error.

drawing::FillStyle eFillStyle;
aAny = xSourceGraphProps->getPropertyValue("FillStyle");
if ((aAny >>= eFillStyle) && drawing::FillStyle_SOLID == eFillStyle)
{
util::Color aFillColor;
aAny = xSourceGraphProps->getPropertyValue("FillColor");
if (aAny >>= aFillColor)
{
xGraphProps->setPropertyValue("FillStyle",
uno::Any(drawing::FillStyle_SOLID));
xGraphProps->setPropertyValue("BackColor", aAny);
xGraphProps->setPropertyValue("FillColor", aAny);
}
}

Another question is, why xGraphProps do not have these properties from the
beginning.

I have a table with 5 columns and 4 lines.

I choose a border style ( ex : double border ), and some inner borders are

I was able to reproduce the bug in:

Version: 7.5.2.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: 50(Build:2)
CPU threads: 1; OS: Linux 6.2; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

and

Version: 7.5.4.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 36ccfdc35048b057fd9854c757a8b67ec53977b6
CPU threads: 1; OS: Linux 6.2; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

I then tried the dev build and the bug did not reproduce:

Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha1+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 7e3ddf1e5aae5e4e956495e3d86a8cbf6e251b5e
CPU threads: 1; OS: Linux 6.2; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

So it looks like its been fixed in the dev build? Searched for a duplicate but
did not find anything that matched. Going to set status to New since the bug
looks to be present in the current release versions.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155672] New: UI: Mouse pointer invisible when using "Clone", with Wayland on Fedora 37

2023-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155672

Bug ID: 155672
Summary: UI: Mouse pointer invisible when using "Clone", with
Wayland on Fedora 37
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: manf...@colorfullife.com

Description:
When using the "clone" feature with double-click to transfer for formatting to
other cells, the mouse pointer is invisible when the mouse is in the data area.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open libreoffice calc
2. create empty sheet
3. Select a cell
4. Move the mouse pointer to the ribbon bar and double click on "clone"
5. Move the mouse back to the data area

Actual Results:
The mouse pointer becomes invisible when it enters the data area

Expected Results:
The mouse pointer should have changed to the "clone" appearance

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
When moving the mouse pointer out of the data area, e.g. back to the ribbon
bar, the mouse pointer reappears.
Other appearance changes of the mouse pointer work (tested: changing the width
of column A, by going with the mouse pointer to the line between A and B)
If you aim blindly to a cell, then the clone feature itself works flawlessly.

The issue was first noticed after switching to Wayland. I'm using Wayland with
KDE.

Configuration from libreoffice:
Version: 7.4.6.2
