I am mystified by the version number in this report. LO 7.6 is just about the
be officially release, so how can it be tested with version 24.2?

Testing the steps in comment 32 with LO 7.6.0.3, I (unfortunately) still
reproduce the bug.

This is a great idea, but I cannot get it to work. I am using the
about-to-be-released 7.6.0.3 version, which should include this feature, right?

1. I have added "inter alia" to the (Danish) dictionary. The dictionary already
contains "inter" as a word, but not "alia" as a separate word.
2. I install the dictionary in LO 7.6.0.3.
3. Testing: writing "inter alia", the word "alia" is marked as a spelling
error.

However, there IS a change from LO 7.5 (7.5.4.2).

a. The name "Aie Sorn" is in the dictionary including the space. Neither "Aie"
nor "Sorn" are words in the dictonary.
b. If I write "Aie", it is marked as a spelling error (both 7.5 and 7.6.0.3).
c. If I write "Sorn", it is marked as a spelling error (both 7.5 and 7.6.0.3).
d. In 7.5: If I write "Aie Sorn", both words are marked as spelling errors.
e. In 7.6.0.3: If I write "Aie Sorn", the word "Aie" is not longer marked as a
spelling error, only "Sorn".

So, the new feature seems to partly work, but only partly.

Math screenshot showing Circumference formula example on Thai locale

Example formulas in Math refer to symbols with unlocalized names, such as
"%pi", while localized names are required when inserting symbols manually on
locales such as Thai. This makes the example formulas rendered with raw symbol
names, rather than the actual symbols.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156791] LibreOffice 7.5.5 has memory leak

It was school work. I rewrote it remembering to save frequently this time. I
installed the long term support version of LibreOffice hoping it wouldn't have
the bug. After using the LTS version for multiple days it seemed that the LTS
version still has the same memory leak as the latest release version.

I always have Task Manager open so I can monitor what my computer is doing.
Anyways I decided to take the time to reproduce the bug. Through
experimentation I discovered the actions causing memory to not be released. It
seems that zooming and or scrolling allocate small amounts of memory that are
never released. In addition selecting text causes small amounts of memory to be
allocated and never released. But biggest of all I found that the combination
of both selecting text and scrolling at the same time allocates large amounts
of memory that are never released. By repeatedly selecting text and scrolling
at the same time I am able to make the app crash due to running out of memory
in under a minute.

Although Rust and C/C++ are often used for the same purpose they are
fundamentally very different languages. I do know the very basics of C/C++
plus, but I'm definitely unqualified to dig through a massive C++ codebase

Although I have neither the time nor experience to pinpoint the bug I hope that
now that I've uncovered the specific action causing it that you will be able to
proceed with foreword with a fix for it.

Dear Doug,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to

Please DO NOT

Update the version field

Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

"Protect" was not yet applied, so if unmarked, there is nothing to accept.
Correct behavior.

(In reply to software.v9onn from comment #3)
> The sheet protection was my misunderstanding: if the check box "protect this
> sheet and the contents of the protected cells" is checked, then I thought it
> is already protected. So I tried to uncheck it to unprotect. Wrong logic.

Yes, the prefilled checkbox could be a bit confusing, but the text points
clearly to a future action (Protect), and not to a state (Protected).
Compare with menu Sheet - Clear Cells (same that Backspace key).

Menu Tools has a checkbox next to Protect Sheet to show if the spreadsheet is
already protected.

> There is a cell protection.

Yes, all the spreadsheet, except A1:AB200.

> If you highlight all cells and try to remove the cell protection, it doesn't

Unmarking Protected, works for me.

Bug ID: 156830
Summary: FILEOPEN PPTX: background image shifts down in
presentation mode
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ger...@pfeifer.com

Created attachment 189054
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=189054=edit
Sample slide (PPTX)

1. Open sample presentation/slide
2. Observe how the arrow in the background image vertically fits
in between the two horizontal yellow lines when in edit mode.
(This is also how PowerPoint renders it.)
3. Enter presentation mode.
4. Note how the arrow now has shifted down.

Versions of LibreOffice prior to 7.6 did not render the background
properly in edit mode to begin with, though at least edit mode and
presentation mode were consistent.

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)

Bonjour

Cordialement

---
ello

In Calc.

It is not possible to apply a format to a set of cells.

Procedure :

- select several cells
- select the chosen attributes (centering, cell format or font format)
- apply to selected cells

NO EFFECT

In this case, the operation must be repeated cell by cell
This was not the case BEFORE this update.

Sincerely

If I get your description correctly you first changed the template of the old
document. This was a change of the document.
And if you select keep old styles, didn't you go back to a template version
before your changed template?
Your report needs more info about the steps to reproduce.
You should also submit a test document without personal data.
Please try out also a current version of LibreOffice (7.5.x).

As I said in comment 2, that only happens when the focus is still on the same
cell that contains the (#NAME?) error, whichever other cells are selected. This
specific info in the status bar should not be hidden. Some potential
enhancement might be found, but the error message in the status bar should
remain as long as a cell with an error has the focus. As said, changing the
focus to another cell allows for the calculations to be displayed.

I can see it in 7.5.5.2 on Linux.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156825] New: Half of the splash screen is visible on both monitors under Linux

2023-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156825

Bug ID: 156825
Summary: Half of the splash screen is visible on both monitors
under Linux
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: bibisected, bisected, regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: framework
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kelem...@ubuntu.com
CC: noelgran...@gmail.com

Recently on master I started to notice that the splash screen of LO appears
centered on both my monitors, while earlier it was shown only on one monitor.

1. Start LO on a system with two monitors
-> Splash screen is in the horizontal middle of the unified screen area, half
on the right side of the left screen and half on the left side of the right
screen.

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sirinath19...@gmail.com

Please add the ability to export as image for app pages.

The pages can be the file name and number 1 to 9 is the document is less than
10 pages, 01 to 99 if it is less than 100 and 001 to 999 if it is less than
1000.

Saving a large number of pages on by one is too tedious.

Also please remember the previously exported format.

I'm just compiling a new fix that supports WITH TIME ZONE SQL type.
It replaces the previous one which also failed the tests.
