Version|7.5.4.2 release |4.2.4.2 release

I was able to reproduce on 4.2.4.2 (but there may be earlier versions
affected). In 4.2.4.2, if the user aligns right in a cell without typing any
text into the table, no formatting mark appears. However, the formatting marks
partially appear if you type additional text into the tables and press Enter.

In 3.3, it is a little finicky. The majority of the time, the formatting marks
appear fully, but there have been times that I saw them only partially appear.
I can't reproduce it at the moment.

Dear Xisco Faulí,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Dear Andreas J Guelzow,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Simply remove any 'space' characters used as formatting. They're considered
valid text content and will extend underlining (and other character based font
affects) when used.

The + "Show formatting marks" will expose any dangling spaces
(though just three beyond the right margin). Our handling of excessive spaces
is open as see also bug 155494 where I favor auto-truncation.

But manual truncation should resolve your underlining issues.

The requested feature is already implemented but resides in the Character...
dialog and requires a sample text selection.

Place edit cursor into the paragraph --and-- make a selection of text.

Context menu --> Character -> Caracter... dialog --or-- main menu Format ->
Character... dialog.

The text selection will be rendered in the dialog's preview panel as font
changes and attributes are adjusted.

We've looked at doing dynamically from the Font listbox on the Standard toolbar
but have repeatedly rejected that, bug 112324 and dupes.

> E. "Expand word space on lines with manual line breaks in justified
> paragraphs" --> "Justify lines with a manual line break in justified
> paragraphs"

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/157118

Reasons:

1. Word space is always expanded in justified paragraphs, no need to mention
it.
2. Put important action verb first.
3. "manual line breaks" can be misunderstood to imply that more than one line
break can appear in a line.
4. Need to mention "in justified paragraphs", otherwise would suggest that all
lines with manual breaks would be justified (independent of the selected text
alignment).
5. 15% length reduction (in a long option label)

After doing a little debugging, I have a new theory: somewhere in the
LibreOffice code is waiting for a key entry event. If you arrow around a range
of non-empty cells rapidly (i.e. press several arrow keys in a row), the
selected cell border keeps up with the selected column and row. But sometimes
there is a lag after the last arrow key is pressed.

Next step: see if I can find which LibreOffice code is calling
AquaSalInstance::AnyInput(VclInputFlags::KEYBOARD) in a loop.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157357] New: Autonumber indexing error on required fields

2023-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157357

Bug ID: 157357
Summary: Autonumber indexing error on required fields
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.6.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gshock...@pm.me

When editing a table, if a field that is designated as required is not
populated, an error message pops up that a required field has not been filled
in. The error is that when the dialog box is closed, the Autonumber function
increments, such that the primary key ID will increment without adding a new
record, however, the incremented value is not displayed until the next row is
entered or the table is saved. For each error message that occurs, the
Autonumber will increment +1. For a particular row in the table, if there are
5 attempts to move beyond a required field, that results in 5 error messages,
which will have the effect of indexing the Autonumber +5 for a single row.
This makes the numbering sequence out of sync by the number of error messages
that have popped up or been displayed. The next row will continue to have the
same delta, i.e. +5 from the last value.

A temporary workaround is to turn off the Autonumber, close the table, save,
reopen in edit mode, and turn on the Autonumber. This appears to clear the
counter and allows the Autonumber to increment correctly from the previous
value.
