Bug ID: 114617
Summary: Performance on scrolling with inserted images is very
bad
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.4.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: sworddrag...@aol.com
Description:
I have created a new document which contains a few images (PNG's with a size of
usually a few hundred KIB's) where every image is covering ~95+% of a site. But
as soon as I'm scrolling through the document and hitting an image the
performance gets very bad:
- The scrolling process is stuttering.
- LibreOffice needs up to a few seconds to finish the process once the user
stops.
- The scrollbar is not able to visually update until the scrolling process
completely finishes.
- The CPU usage is very high (~250+%/600% (6 core CPU)) compared to scrolling
the same image in other applications (like Eye of GNOME where it is only
~5%/600%).

Expected Results:
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
