Yes, bug still exists. It's obviously not in the File > Save as > Save as type
- menu of formats available.
It seems there is a fundamental misunderstanding of the functionality. MS

In addition to *.xlsx and *.xlsm formats *.xltx is supported thanks to bug
99438 fix in LibreOfficeDev Calc 6.3.0.0. Calc can't create or run excel macros
but should still be able to use the files and

Essentially there are two issues here:
1) Templates are not supported for current version. Given they are supported
for a previous version i think it is a bug they were overlooked.
2) Macros are

I disagree. Microsoft Excel 2007-2013 XML (.xlsx)(*.xlsx) is supported and so
is Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Template (.xlt)(*.xlt). I consider the omission of
