As it took too much time searching for a solution I changed to Lazarus as DB-frontend, both on Win7 as Linux. More effort but also more reliable and flexible. MariaDB is hosted on Synology DS218. I had the same problem on one of my Win7 machines and never solved it. I tried it and it also solved this problem.
