[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148073] Consider renaming menu item "Search Commands"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148073 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #5 from Heiko Tietze --- In addition to the other comments I'd like to mention KRunner and Spotlight the two HUD functions I know. And none is telling the user explicitly that pressing enter will run the action. => NAB -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148073] Consider renaming menu item "Search Commands"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148073 --- Comment #4 from Adolfo Jayme Barrientos --- Neither the existing name nor the proposed one cut it for me. It should have been called Command Palette, as most other software with this feature does. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148073] Consider renaming menu item "Search Commands"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148073 --- Comment #3 from lol --- (In reply to Dave Barton from comment #2) > -1 > I see no advantage in making such a change. Sure, it's in the help. But the menu items should also reflect what the user can expect when selecting a menu item. > Not only does the additional > text bloat the menu, it adds unnecessary work for translators and > documentation. Why is the menu bloated? This menu item is then the longest in help menu. But that should not be an obstacle. There are other menu items that are longer. And why is it unnecessary work for translators and documentation? Two words should be added. That's not the big deal. Of course, in the documentation the effort will perhaps be greater, as it will probably have to be changed in several places. LibreOffice is constantly evolving. It's not a good idea to say we don't change menu items because the effort is too much. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148073] Consider renaming menu item "Search Commands"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148073 --- Comment #2 from Dave Barton --- -1 I see no advantage in making such a change. If the user does not already know that the facility will also execute MOST commands, they will be pleasantly surprised to discover that it does. Not only does the additional text bloat the menu, it adds unnecessary work for translators and documentation. My take WF or NAB. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
