please try LibO 3.4.5 from http://www.libreoffice.org/download/
my be there this bug is fixed

Ok - have updated to 3.4.5 as requested, and find that the problem does not
occur.
No problem printing out!

Using L.O. 3.3.0.4 on Mandriva 2012.2.
Have just created a new document containing 3 arbitrary strings.
Highlight any of the 3 strings and press print.

I am away from base and do not have LibOf 3.5.0 installed or in a position to
install it.
