I'm not able to reproduce in on Ubuntu with LibreOffice 4.0.3

Can you pls attach a sample document?
Does it make any difference if you select e.g. a space or not?

This shows the same behaviour for me :)

Now when I select all lines, choose Format  Remove direct formatting
and then change the lowest three lines to a next level indent (type tab at the
beginning of the lines), the problem does not occur...

So is this a bug.. I'm not sure.
I think one of the developers/people really knowing the meaning / intended
working of the code should know?

(the behaviour is consistent since 3.3.0...)

Ok, and thank you. That solves my problem because I move a lot of text around. 

But I would call this solution a workaround and the problem a bug. Well, I see
it from the point of a user :)
