Functioning well now on Windows in 4.3.4.1 release.

Good tracking in NVDA and in Accprobe. Occasionally still have to toggle F2
Esc to force focus into active table cell.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81264

--- Comment #19 from David Goldfield disciple1...@verizon.net ---
there is some definite progress regarding this issue. I just tested Calc
Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: d9473f25380c627966b4406cc4cdfaafcf44bc37
TinderBox: Win-x86@51-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2014-11-03_04:24:26
Pressing f2 followed by escape does not allow me to hear cell coordinates or
data as I use arrow keys.
However, at that point if I press ctrl-alt-N to exit and restart NVDA and place
focus back into the Calc spreadsheet, cell coordinates and data within the cell
speak reliably. Does that information provide any help?

Thanks helpful.

On Windows 7 sp1, 64-bit en-US with NVDA 2014.2 and a current 4.4.0.0alpha1+
build of master.

Not sure why but the ctrlalt+N cycling NVDA correctly establishes the
rendering of IAccessible2 content. If NVDA is running when LibreOffice is
launched the Calc sheet content is not reliably gaining focus, although all the
menus and toolbars seem to have no trouble.

Are we assigning an incorrect role to the sheet (a drawing layer) and its
cells?

Once we gain focus of the sheet, all seems correct. The relaunch of NVDA seems
to do it most efficiently, more so that the F2 and esc I'd been using.

--- Comment #21 from Niklas Johansson sleeping.pil...@gmail.com ---
I've been trying to debug this and it seems that ScAccessibleSpreadsheet is not
created when a spreadsheet is created. I believe this need to be created
somewhere to (probably from ScAccessibleDocument). At the moment I'm a bit lost
as to what actually broke the behavior and how to fix it.

Sometimes ScAccessibleSpreadsheet is created but something else is missing
leaving us with focus events being sent for a cell and then immediately
removed. So the output could look something like this.
EVENT_OBJECT_SELECTION name = B2 role = tableCell
EVENT_OBJECT_FOCUS name = B2 role = tableCell
EVENT_OBJECT_SELECTIONREMOVE name = B2 role = tableCell

In Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 it instead look like this:
EVENT_OBJECT_SELECTION Name=B2 Role=tableCell
EVENT_OBJECT_FOCUS Name=B2 Role=tableCell
EVENT_OBJECT_SELECTIONREMOVE Name=, Role=rootPane

LibreOffice master from 19 December 2013 seems to work as well and the object
that is removed was the cell we moved from which seems more correct than the
root pane. But there where probably some other issue involved.

I'm hoping to find some windows builds of master between 19 December up until
the summer to try and narrow down when the focus issue first occurred. I'm
guessing it was introduced somewhere around January but that might be totally
wrong. ;)

Attached clip of AccProbe session when Focus is gained into the tableCells.

The table object shows as focusable, and never gains focus--which moves
immediately to a tableCell. And on deselection--the rootPane shows [normal].

Contrasted to the no-Focus when table is never exposed, just optionPane, and
the tableCells never gain focus.

I wanted to report that as of the 9/30/2014 nightly build I am still not
receiving accessibility feedback with LibreOffice Calc and NVDA 2014.3 while
moving through cells using the arrow keys. Was the patch in this particular
 version?

Hi David, the situation on Windows is a bit different then the one described in
this bug. After I modified a cell I can actually get updates (well not always,
but sometimes). I've been meaning to open a new bug and reference it in here,
but time has slipped through my hands, sorry about that.

Hi, I did some quick checking on Windows with NVDA and from what I can tell the
patch don't really seem to have any direct impact on Windows. I'll try to
prepare a backport to 4.3 sometime later this week.

Calc still don't speak the cell coordinates on Windows (unless I double click a
cell using the mouse, after that it seems to work). I'll try to find time to
look into that issue later.
