Just for the record:

The integration of LO5 into GTK environments has improved a lot. 

Also, thanks to the new iconset libreoffice-style-breeze.

Robert: just for the record, the GTK+ 3 compatibility has been improved a lot
for LibreOffice 5.0, so you might want to give it a spin once it comes out :)

No, of course it’s not intended. The theme you’re using is based on Andrea
Cimitan’s Murrine engine for GTK+ 2, the same as Ubuntu’s Ambiance/Radiance.
This bug doesn’t happen in any other Murrine theme I’ve used, but in
elementary’s; therefore I’d say the bug should be fixed by them, but then again
Daniel Foré states that any software which uses GTK+ 2 is “bad”, so he won’t
fix his theme.

Hi Adolfo, 

You are right. The white icons are related to the GTK2 backend. Is it intended
to have these white icons? 

I temporarily tested the GTK3 backend but it feels very experimental. I
switched back to GTK2.

If you want to test the experimental GTK+ 3 backend, enable experimental
features in Options and start LibreOffice with the environmental variable
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3
