Using LibreOffice 6.0.1.1 on GNU/Linux with an Intel HD Graphics 530 (i7-6700)
the modesetting driver doing a simple transition like wipe on the HiDPI/4K
monitor Dell U2718Q, it is not smooth but you can see how every line is drawn.
This is visible in editing and presentation mode.
