“The request sounds not too sensible to me and I'd be afraid of side-effects,
eg. when editing a structured document you shouldn't modify the predefined
values. Other opinions?”

There may be times when you need to edit the predefined values, as when, in the
attached sample, Peter Parker resigns and needs to be replaced by Diana
Spencer.

I dont know about programming, but I was thinking about We can be allowed to
name a list. For example, the names of the employees will be called “List 1”
and the floor number, “List 2.” So that any action I do on any one of the
“List 1” will be replicated in the other “List 1.”

BTW, is there a way to edit the comments We post here?

Sample Case

Yes. I agree that this can be done using the user/input field in the variable
tab. But sometimes you need to just give the end user with a predetermined list
of options. Also it would save you time and make you less prone to errors if
you just click on the choices, rather than manually type it.

In the attached example, it would be convenient to just click on the “names” of
the persons and the “floor number,” instead of manually typing it especially if
you make several of this documents in a day.

Please also tell us your use case rather than the envisioned solution.

What I understand is that you insert a field into a document per Insert > Field
> More Fields (Ctrl+f2) and Functions > Input List with Items Foo, Bar, Baz =>
Insert. And now you expect the dialog that shows up on double click on this
field to provide means to change the items (maybe at the fields dialog too).

As a working alternative you can do Variables > User Field: Name="Foo",
Value="Bar". Modifying this to "Baz" applies to all fields in the document.
Admittedly not a list but it sounds better suited to your use case.

The request sounds not too sensible to me and I'd be afraid of side-effects,
eg. when editing a structured document you shouldn't modify the predefined
values. Other opinions?
