Seems it is not just with the first startup. This was what written out to
the terminal on shutdown in a subsequent session:

Downloaded the latest 6.2 daily build for 64bit Linux, installed under
Ubuntu 18.04 (w/gnome default desktop) and on first start got some output
to stdout which I'd need before:
