[Libreoffice-qa] FDO Version Management

2013-07-22 Thread Joel Madero

Hi All,

I have hidden all non release version of version 3.4 on FDO - I don't
forsee this being a problem as I doubt a bug will need to be set to one
of these particular versions but if this is an issue now or in the
future please let me know and I'll re-activate one or more.

I will be doing the same with 3.5 in the coming day(s) - we know that
some distros are still using 3.4 (RHEL) and 3.5 (Ubuntu 12.04 & 12.10),
they are both on release versions so bugs reported by users using these
should be a release - if QA or someone else has to change the version to
a pre-release let me know and either I will do it or I'll activate the
version temporarily.

We're trying to keep FDO much cleaner - 50+ versions just gets confusing
and all of these are way past EOL.

Also, I'd like to get feedback about a version "pre-bibisect" - right
now we just mark these as 3.5beta0 as it's "at least that old" but
that's not really incredibly accurate as to the level of triage work
that has been done. Pre-bibisect instead would say "3.5 or older" which
is as far as we can prove if the bug appears in earliest bibisect package.

Thoughts appreciated.

Warm Regards,
Joel

Yes, many of us agree. But we've punted on that in the past for a
variety of reasons. Perhaps it's time to revisit the question and see
if now is a good time to move to our own Bugzilla.

Two accounts...same password, or?

Also giving them two accounts at the same time might be a bit
confusing (but there are two sites, so there might not be a good way
around that). What about using OpenID for both sites? (esp. if we ran
our own OpenID server for all of this, or otherwise gave them a single
identity for their LibreOffice logins)

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Send Feedback from LibreOffice application

2013-07-22 Thread Rob Snelders

Hi All,

There was some work in progress for that. LibreOffice gives that
information already to the BSA. But the BSA doesn't pick it up yet. So
that will need to be implemented. The option can be found on Help->Send
Feedback. When you open it you can see the info of your LibreOffice in
the URL.

This has been discussed a bit and from my understanding it's

a) quite a bit of work
b) might have some legal issues in terms of privacy if we're
collecting data automatically.

Bug might be negative but submit a bug report in a way is positive in the
sense that an issue has been found and reported.

We are changing it so it's not misleading - it's going to get to a
landing page - that's what this whole thread is about ;) So it will be
for feedback (in a general sense). We want to avoid negative words like
"bugs" in our main GUI.

Hmmm. LibreOffice 4.1.0.3 still fails to find a referenced Help page,
as described in fdo#59262 "web help missing"
.
