I think that removing it from the drop-down list is helpful. There is no
point in having available options that are deprecated. In this case the
English word "blocker" has a specific meaning and is used in other open
source projects to effectively block a release. Since that doesn't apply in
LibreOffice it should be removed.

Pedro

Okay, blocker is removed from visibility. I don't expect the change
will have any negative side effects, but please indicate if you see
any weirdness with creating new or updating old bug reports.

[Libreoffice-qa] Drop-down boxes are broken for the whole LibreOffice.

2015-12-04 Thread m.a.riosv
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83904
reported by Beluga.

Can someone test, seems for the whole daily builds 5.x and for the whole
LibreOffice drop-down boxes are broken.

List selection is displayed, but the selection it's not applied neither
change in the box.

If it is, should be changed to blocker, I can only put it as critical.

It is a new bug. The bug reported by Beluga is that applying a colour in
branch 4.4 can not be undone.

The bug you just found (and I can confirm at least in version 5.1.0.0beta1
x86) is that the drop list does not work at all.

There is yet another different problem in branch 5.0 (tested in version
5.0.4.1 x86): pressing Apply doesn't do anything. So the list works but the
changes are not applied.

Seems you need to click your selection on the list, to get it applied.

May I suggest that you migrate all "blockers" to "critical" and remove the
"blocker" option from the list?

It is useless, causes confusion/illusion and is a waste of time both to
reporters and triagers.

You should most definitely have rights. Changing that now. Please verify

I've just been discussing this issue with beluga on IRC. It looks like
the range has been narrowed down to 11/24 - 11/28, but could use
further investigation. If you have a spare moment, please hop onto
#libreoffice-qa and join us.

Ideally, all triagers should be in the 'contributors' Bugzilla group
and should hopefully be aware of current best practices regarding
Severity and Priority. I just made additional updates to the
Prioritization flowchart mentioned in our Bug Triage docs to clarity
the deprecation of 'blocker', reflect the relative position of the
Importance fields (Priority, Severity) in the Bugzilla bug-editing
interface, and change the term 'Wishlist' to 'Enhancement' (to reflect
the actual terms used):

Then set it as a blocker :) But recognize that "blocker" literally has
no meaning (we don't block releases). Ultra-Critical may be a better
term. Either as Critical or Blocker I suspect it'll be fixed relatively
fast.

I have no rights to do it.

For this I mail in the list, so it can be comment and if it was right set up
as blocker.

Sounds good the "Ultra-critical", but I don't know if there are already
enough labels.
