Thank you, all.

I see that the situation is under control.

That should not happen. Under Windows Alt+F opens the File menu. Pressing
just the F key opens the Remote Files dialog.

The keys have completely changed since 5.1 (e.g. creating a text document
was O since the OpenOffice days and switched to W) which might be bad news
for people with accessibility problems...

On a positive note the keys are more logic now and it fixed the problem with
"Recent Files" and "Draw Drawing" which were both assigned to R and caused
that none would be launched (focus would just jump from one option to the
other) until you pressed enter.

I think this is more an UI/Design task than a QA task.

Cheers,
Pedro

2015-12-15 Thread V Stuart Foote
This is wrapped up in Simon and Caolan's work on GTK, and the non-standard
way the StartCenter accelerators & shortcuts are cobbled together.

Two open issues:

Bug 92516 -
"x" accelerator and mouse click not exiting StartCenter in "File -> Exit
LibreOfficeDev" menu

and

Bug 96327 -
Start Center: "F" accelerator for "Remote Files" conflicts with "alt+F"
accelerator for "File" menu

[Libreoffice-qa] Start Center, shortcuts, and so forth

2015-12-15 Thread Terrence Enger
Hi, all,

I notice in Start Center on both Linux and Windows that "+F" opens the
dialog "Remote Files", thus closing off direct access to "+F X" to
close the program. I presume this is a bug, right?

But I am confused about about shortcut keys, accelerator keys, and
navigation within Start Center. Does there exist a description of what I
should expect?
(
does not describe navigation at all.)

Would it be good to have Start Center as a component in bugzilla?

Thank you, all, for your help.
Terry.

[Libreoffice-qa] Start Center in Master

2013-08-18 Thread Florian Reisinger

Hi,

I just downloaded the latest Win master (Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: bc42d992439de77b0e60a8435b2a134d886f0f76) and was quite
shocked, as I opened the Start Center see [1].

I think redesign is a GSoC project, so I want to share my opinion:
IMHO the new XYZ should always be in the frontpage. -- All recent
should have all New XYZ on the top + a section of recent documents --
Maybe renaming it to Start would be great. (The 2 sections should be
seperated by a horizontal line.)

I hope you understand my concerns.

Hello Florian,

I just downloaded the latest Win master (Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+

It's a joke, isn't it?

I remember we had a great discussion when the start-center had been
introduced in OpenOffice. Now the next great discussion. Don't know why.
There are enough bugs inside the office - so let's try to polish the image?

Regards

Robert

I think it is the wrong ml to discuss. Use the thread on ux-advice-list [1].
