[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 105965] New: UI request to synchronize 'File > Print' and 'File > ' Export as PDF' default behavior
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105965 Bug ID: 105965 Summary: UI request to synchronize 'File > Print' and 'File > 'Export as PDF' default behavior Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: bruceh...@gmail.com CC: libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org In LO Writer the "File > Print" default is "Y = All Pages" and the "File > Export" default is "Y = All". So the user gets the SAME default output for printing or PDF creation. In LO Calc the "File > Print" default is "Y = Selected Sheets" and the "File > Export as PDF" default is "Y = All". So in Calc the user gets DIFFERENT default output for printing versus PDF creation. This inconsistency (and annoyance) could be resolved if for Calc the "File > Export as PDF" default were changed to "Y = Selection". This is the change requested here. Additional note 1: IMHO the default for a spreadsheet should be 'selection' not 'all' because spreadsheets can easily contain hundreds of pages of data that would never be printed or exported to PDF. Additional note 2: It would be even nicer if Calc's "File > Export as PDF" options were the same as Calc's "File > Print" options which are: All sheets, Selected sheets, Selected cells, All pages, and Pages. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

Set Bookmarks and/or section Headings. There is no reason to adjust scroll bar behavior to something more complex, beyond possibly providing a by "page" movement button Up/Down (uno:PreviousPage and .uno:NextPage) command as provided in Navigator and Toolbars. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105808 Heiko Tietzechanged: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |WONTFIX --- Comment #2 from Heiko Tietze --- How the scrollbar works is defined by the operating system/desktop environment and messing around with those defaults always ends in a much worse scenario. And actually the _thumb_ behaves exactly as you describe on my system (LXQt, KWin, Breeze): it becomes smaller with increasing number of pages, but only up to around 200. After that it remains large enough to easily deal with it. Admitted that scrolling to a particular position is not fun. The issue boils down how to deal with large documents. And as Stuart pointed out we have the Navigator for this purpose. Plus the newly introduced dialog Edit > Go to page (ctrl+G). You have also a lot of other supportive functions to find a certain position, for instance bookmarks or a table of contents with links. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise
