So we have to weigh whether its more important for users who switch from OS to
OS to have the same behaviour in LO or to make LO feel more at home with other
mac apps. The last time this issue was brought up (cant remember which bug it
was in :D), we went with consistency of LO across platforms.

@steve, @alex: Can you check what other cross platform apps do about this
behaviour on their mac versions?

@tomaz: would it be simple to implement a different behaviour for ctrl+right
arrow?

So we could disable the menu entry when the master has no page field or we
change the master, perhaps after confirmation. Or this menu entry gets kill in

That's not always right. Suppose you start editing a document und first add a
TOC. In this case there is no text below. A TOC may also be put at the end of a
document. A bit old-fashioned, but possible. And it's quite normal to put other
kinds of indexes at the end of a document.

If you insert an index, it is always inserted with an empty paragraph below.
For the same reasons mentioned in comment 17, I think this is not correct.

Currently not. But consider a table which ends together at the end of a
document and at the bottom of a page. In this case there is an empty paragraph
on a new empty page at the end of the document. This should be avoided because
the number of pages is not correct, an empty page will be printed, ... Hence I
think no empty paragraph should be inserted when inserting a new table.
Furthermore it should be possible to delete an empty paragraph below a table at
the end of a document. When this is implemented there should be a possibility
to insert a new paragraph below a table besides Alt+Enter.

Usually this works, but not if the first cell is protected.

I do agree that the Notebookbar should not be accessible untill it is
considered to be usable enough at least in the three main modules (Writer,
Impress and Calc) and maybe in Draw as well.

But that doesn't invalidate the discussion for making these default toolbar
layouts already available to become discoverable.
But I guess that having them under the View Menu is already a lot better than
having them buried in:

Tools --> Options --> View

I just wanted to see it even less buried. But if it's not feasible then I won't
push for more.
Maybe move the selection of icon set and icon size to the View Menu as well
then.
For visually impaired users it would probably be easier to change icon size if
it was under the View menu which is much more accessible than under 3 submenus.
And the icon set would be another interesting option.

The issue then is that the View menu would have too many subcategories.
