OSX Keynote has an option "auto-center" on its toolbar which is on by default.
When off it allows scrolling over the full canvas including regions off the
slide, as LO Impress does now.

That would go a long ways to making it more useable. It would be necessary,
however, to be able to see the letter inserted either in the text or the
dialog, preferably in the dialog
