[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 136812] Adding more than 1 paragraph style to chapter numbering level

2020-09-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon

(In reply to Thomas Lendo from comment #0)

> chapter numbering level.

You can have several paragraph styles with the same outline level. You cannot
use the default chapter numbering list for this, but need to maintain your own
chapter numbering. How to do this, is a question for the mailing list.

Confirming: you cannot change position and background color of footnote fields,
neither per character style nor direct formatting. Any reason, Mike?

I don't support this. I understand the usecase, but AFAIK Layout should be
consistent. If the rule is "Heading of level x starts on a new page" this
should be the case with every heading of that level.

BTW: Are you sure, that page break with headings 1-5 is not a customized style?

What is the "table drop down"? If you talk about Table > Insert Table...
applied to text, usually tab separated numbers, converting the text into a
table, that's not a bug but a feature. It's the same as Table > Convert > Text
to table (using Default table style).

I agree, the export dialog, where you can tell Size, Compression, Mode, etc.,
it should have a checkbox:

The actual request is to count footnotes rather than selecting it.

This enhancement makes sense although the opposite is requested in bug 99189
(obviously in case of no selection). I recommend to split the numbers in the
to-be-introduced word count dialog requested in bug 123083.

Could be something like

(o) All Text
( ) Selection
( ) Before Cursor
( ) After Cursor

 Words Character
[x] Title 12123
[x] Headings92 1124
[x] Paragraphs. 8977 65657
[ ] Header.211 1332
[ ] Footer 896 6564
_
Total 9084 67921

(round brackets for single choice options aka radio button, square for multiple
choice checkboxes)

The workaround today is to do math with the selected vs unselected count.

Which reminds me that it was a conscious decision to hide the formatting
toolbar in bug 87676.

Reason to hide the formatting toolbar was exactly this: two toolbars instead of
four.

My comment 3 was about the addition of just the font name dropdown. But in fact
we should rather find a better solution.

List style (or actually Bullets/Numbering) is part of the paragraph

I think this is more an enhancement request than a bug. There might be good
reasons, why footnotes are not selected at the moment. But I would at least
expect, that all footnotes are selected if cursor is placed in footnote and
Strg+A is used.
