If you need an option to select a paragraph you may use the triple click. For keyboard access we'd have to define a new key, which makes sense. I'd suggest alt(+shift) + pos1/end as default to jump to the beginning or end of the paragraph. I propose to always stop at the end of the paragraph before jumping to the next one, whether empty or not. This is the behaviour most user be familiar with. Including newcomers from Microsoft Word.
