[libreplanet-discuss] Visiting LibrePlanet from Oslo, Norway

2018-03-02 Thread Ole Aamot
To libreplanet-discuss,

My name is Ole Aamot and I am the principal author and maintainer of
gnome-internet-radio-locator, a new GNOME 3 program for locating and
listening to free Internet radio broadcasts from major universities.

I visited SIPB at M.I.T. from Norway three and a half years ago and my
visit inspired me sufficiently to restart work on a free radio program
that I began in 2002 at Norwegian Computing Center. The radio program
was reimplemented for GNOME 3, GNOME Maps and gstreamer in 2017, but
it remains to add more internet radio stations in new cities around
the planet.

You can download version 1.0 under GNU GPLv3 from
http://download.gnome.org/sources/gnome-internet-radio-locator/1.0 and
compile and run it on GNU/Linux system running latest GNOME 3 with
./configure && make && make install (see INSTALL).

See the GNOME Wiki at https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/InternetRadioLocator
and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-internet-radio-locator to get
the latest source code with git.

You may also download binary package for Debian, Fedora and Ubuntu
from https://people.gnome.org/~ole/gnome-internet-radio-locator/

I have not yet decided if I will attend LibrePlanet 2018, but I hope
to meet all of you in Cambridge, MA, U.S.A. between March 24 - 25th.

Best,
Ole Aamot
