I just checked mail and found one of these notices from Gateway too. I put
in the order 6PM EST on Sat. the 10th. I was wondering if the shippment they
said they had received that day was going to cover both orders put in before
their re-supply request on the 1st, and orders from that point to the 10th
when I ordered.

Well... now I won't have to figure out just what I was going to use it for
;-P

The link at the product site at Gateway had disappeared but was back up
this afternoon. In the meantime I just got this email from Gateway 10
minutes ago. This cancellation was for only one of my orders, I'll have
to keep my fingers crossed that at least one of the 2G card orders goes
through.

Dear Customer,

Due to the unusually large volume of orders that were placed for the
Toshiba 2GB Removable Hard Drive (Gateway Accessory Store Item
#1881017), our stock on this item has been depleted. ...

TFT color LCD's similar enough in construction to mono that the same
techniques might work to get rid of the lines? Usually I have found
bad connects on the screen and/or chips and resoldering fixes the

Oh well, if you insist :)

Almost certainly *not* the cable... but if the LCD is anything like the
50/70 (ignoring the extra width) there are all sorts of traps for the
unwary, including components and wires glued to the glass in ideal places to
crack it if you're not *very* careful.

Hello

The new version is not installed but it seems to be having a problem
with the subject [LIB] insertion. Do people use this for their
filters? I am sending an email to the developer to see what the
  problem is.

I have also set the bounce limit on once again to get rid of some of
the bad addresses. I know last time some people got booted who do
not clean out their boxes often enough (limit bounces). I am going
to leave this on for a few days and then return it to normal. We are
getting a ton of bounces at the moment.

Again if there are any questions feel free to email me. I am still
trying to catch up with things since getting back last week.

Targus universal power supplies

I have been considering one of these for my 100CT and after looking at
the Targus site to see if they are compatible I was all confused.
Sellers on ebay were saying they work however the Targus site only
listed the 100/110CT as being compatible with the PA360 air/auto. So I
called targus and they told me the tip for the 100 is also compatible
with PA140 ac adapter. So the 100/110CT are still usable with the
latest Targus adapters which means a person can still carry just one
adapter for everything.

So far I have discovered its a minumum of 300 to replace the LCD. At that
price trying to repair it is a definate option. I don't want to mess with
another second hand unit since buying one is expensive and one is never sure
of the quality of parts one gets.

In any case, my site has the exploded parts diagram and parts listing, and
www.micsol.com and that other site I noted in the Cheap

parts at about the same prices as Micro Solutions-

They have a more complete line.

I've been trying to get a response from impact computers about what parts
they have for a long time. They don't answer their email. I just ordered the

cheap and it is easy to replace.

Actually I'm normally the op in there but I've just woken up and found

Notice the thing that says Prices reflect purchasing full quantity
listed
 ... I don't think we can purchase all 2700 of them ;-)

I missed that. I wonder how much they would charge for the minimum order.

Here is what someone informed me about Impact Computers apparently not
changing their website for stuff they no longer carry is an on-going
thingVBG.

Has anyone ever delt with this company? I see their website lists all
kinds of spare parts at very reasonable prices however they don't seem
to respond to email and no one answers the phone. They are located in
Miami Florida USA

I have a couple of times. Their prices are okay, not great, but the
selection is quite good. In general, if something is available both as a
spare part and an accessory, buying it as an accessory would be cheaper,
sometimes way cheaper, than as a replacement part. And they do email you
ads once or twice a week after you have ordered.

The only real problem (that I have had) with these guys is you never know if
something is out (or even discontinued and they'll never be able to get
more) even it's listed on their site as the site seems pretty static. The
second time I ordered from them they shipped only two out of four items.

Besides placing orders and receiving shipments, I have never interacted with
them so I don't know how good (or bad) their customer service is.

Regards,

JL
