Hi there!

First of all, thanks for your indications on how to make sandra run on my
L30. It keeps asking more files, so when I have more time, I'll try and find
everything I need on the internet.

However, I'm not writing this to say that, but to let you know that... I am
browsing the web using a Siemens S35i connected through the infrared port of
mi Libretto!
Well, it isn't very cheap, nor very fast, but at least now I can download my
mail withot going to the office (now I don't have access to the internet at
home), even when I'm travelling.

It didn't want to work when I first tried it, but after reinstalling the
drivers and reassign the ports, there's been no problem. This is the proof:
I,m sending this email through the Orange (UK) ISP, using just my libby and
my mobile.

Well, that's all.

Regards,

Miguel

Re: 100ct to 266 speed?

Subject: Re: 100ct to 266 speed?

Neil, thanks for the information.
Indeed my L30 has been put to hibernate a couple of times because of the
temperature (I guess), but only when using a PCMCIA modem which gets very
hot, thus I don't really know if it's because of an overclocking or because
of the modem.
I finally managed to install Sandra it on my L30, but it asks me for a file:
WS2_32.DLL, which I can't foni on microsoft's site. Is there anybody who has
it and could sent it to me, telling me where it should be pasted?

Thanks in advance,

Miguel

Miguel,

Can't help you with the 30 upgrade...but regarding the overclocking, you
could try a free product called SiSoft Sandra which will tell you more than
you ever wanted to know about the insides of your computer. According to
its
specs it works all the way down to slow 386's so you should have no
problems
running it. Not everything is there in the free version, but what it
doesn't
have you don't need. Just check the processor speed and see if it's what
you
expect.

Alternatively, does it go into over-temperature shutdown if it's working
hard? If it does, it's probably clocked...

Neil

Hi, there's a couple of questions, one specific, and the other, more
general:

-Does anybody know how to overclock an L30 (please take into account that I
can't read japanese, at most, I read English, and poorly!)

-How can you know if a computer is overclocked?

Cheers,

Miguel

Hi,

What you can do to reset the computer is to switch it on and then,
disconnect the battery, and unplug the adaptor. That will avoid the
hibernation.

RE: Iomega Pocket Zip drives Wireless ethernet

OK, but would these 32-bit cards produce the effect of not being detected?
If so, I think I have a 3com 10/100 ethernet card I can't use.
Is anybody interested in swapping a 10base-T 16-bit PC card (with dongle)
for mine, which is a 32-bit 10/100 base-TX card (made by 3com, badged as
Dell, with product number 3CCFE575BT-D)?

32-bit or CardBus PC Cards will not work in Libretto models 70 or lower.

Hi there,

Do you mean that a 32-bit card will not work in a Libretto?
I'm asking you this because today I have received a 10-100 3com ethernet
card I won in an auction, but my L30 doesn't even 'feel' when the card is
in, so I thought it was a problem of the card, as when I put it into a
Macintosh I have, en error message was displayed reading The battery in
the

SRAM PC Card (Lower PC Card slot) is getting low. Please replace it to
avoid

losing information, but maybe it could have the same problem, as that
lapptop is quite old.
Do you think it could be due to that thing of the 32-bit?

Cheers,

Miguel

L30

2001-06-08 Thread Miguel S.R.

Date: Fri, 08 Jun 2001 18:04:31 +0100
From: Miguel S.R. [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: L30

Thanks, Neil for the information, and Anthony for your offer.
I have tried to contact Morgan Computers, but they didn't reply my email
yet. However, Anthony, please let me know how the repair of your L30 goes,
as I'd be interested in purchasing your memory module, and maybe some other
bits.

By the way, it has taken me so long to reply because since I upgraded my
hard drive, some days ago, I haven't been able to make my PCMCIA modem work
-now I'm writing this from another computer.
The modem is a PSION-DACOM V34 GOLD CARD. I have been searching for help on
Toshiba's and Psion's sites, but nothing of what they indicate makes it
work.
The thing is, I had the same problem in the beginning, when the card was
first installed, but after a lot of tries, it finally worked, and after
trying the same things, the result is that it connects to the isp, but then
it's disconnected, and an error message of the type of 'you were
disconnected, please check your configuration' appears, so I must have
missed something.

Any idea? Could it be possible to copy something from the old drive onto the
new one to make the modem work?

Thanks in advance,

Miguel
