I also have a 70 still and thought it would be
really cool to have a 1024 by 748 screen in that.

It would. From the looks of the picture, it looks like the unit would be
too big to fit into the L70 lid, unless it can be disassembled. I don't
recall, but I'd think people would already explored the possibilites of
putting a brighter, larger resolution LCD into a 50/70 lid if it were
possible.

Yeah the case would need to be taken off. The screen itself is about 1 mm
thicker than the libretto display case.

John,

I didn't see any replies to your question about that problem with your L100
LCD, monitor. Are you also looking for the smaller 50/70 LCD now? These
have been extremely expensive for the most past, around $500, usually making
it more cost affective to buy a whole new Libretto.

Recently there have been posts to a site in Miami, FL that has been listing
50/70 screens for $350 at:

http://www.impactcomputers.com/toshiba-libretto-50ct-parts.html

And 100/110 screens for $379.95 at:

http://www.impactcomputers.com/toshiba-libretto-100ct-parts.html

This has been the cheapest I think anyone on the list has found for these
screens. I don't know if anyone has mentioned completing a sale with them.
One list member began an order for a part from them, but cancelled becuase
they were slow to reponnd at that poiny, and I think the part was out of
stock.

Sorry I can't give you any advice about the NEC TFT screen.

John,

LCD, monitor. Are you also looking for the smaller 50/70 LCD now? These

No. While I was hunting around to see if I could find a reflective
frontlit LCD the same size as the one in my 100CT I found this. If it
was a few inches larger it might have been a good replacement for my
100 screen. However I also have a 70 still and thought it would be
really cool to have a 1024 by 748 screen in that.

True. I was checking out how much a replacement would be from Toshiba
and they want 900. I have found cheaper as down as low as 300 plus Man
Machine will fix a display for 299.

Out of stock as far as I know plus they don't tell you before you
order.

And 100/110 screens for $379.95 at:

http://www.impactcomputers.com/toshiba-libretto-100ct-parts.html

I emailed them to see if they have any in stock.

Actually I think the display may be ok and its just the display cable.

Sorry I can't give you any advice about the NEC TFT screen.

That's ok.
