There seems to be a misunderstanding here. Jim doesn't keep the Freudian

Kim,

There's a uk company you might find it convenient to check out:

"... distributed in the UK by Tele-Adapt and they can be reached on (0208)
421 ; Fax (0208) 421 5308 (email
[EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED]) Tele-Adapt are a
company specialising in modem connectivity and also offer
kits for connecting in various other countries. "

We use them in huge quantities but sadly I don't work for that bit of the
company any longer so I can't get them directly. I can call on your behalf
though if you wish.

Jim,

As you know I work for a reputable company whose reporters would *never*
think of contravening the local telecoms regulations by removing the covers
of one of the *dozens* of incompatible phone jacks found around the
world...which makes me wonder quite what they wanted all those
RJ11->crocodile clip adaptors for... :)

Seriously - most modern hotels in Europe will have RJ11 jacks though you
can't guarantee it. If you're lucky you might even find a power point unused
in the room somewhere close to it. But don't hold your breath looking!
