Yep, libtool should indeed remove `-Wl,', but only if `$wl' is empty.
In general, the result should have `-Wl,' replaced with the contents
of `$wl'.

Here's a fix submitted by our QNX engineer to get our product
(Berkeley DB) to work with QNX dynamic libraries. Without this patch,
libtool conservatively builds only static archives.
Apparently QNX uses GNU ld, so the fix is straightforward.

I am trying to build the SDL with a mingw cross compiler
(for native windows binaries under Linux). I am using
autoconf from the CVS and libtool release-1-3-5
from the CVS.
When I run configure, it correctly detects the cross compile
case, but it fails when invoking ltconfig.
The Libtool Team is pleased to announce patch release 1.3.5 of
GNU libtool. A complete tarball for libtool-1.3.5 will be

libtool, and I plan to release 1.3.5 this weekend. Is there anything
pending that I should incorporate into the tree before I roll it up
