After making all the changes you suggested (see https://svn.open-mpi.org/trac/ompi/changeset/18514
and https://svn.open-mpi.org/trac/ompi/changeset/18515), everything
works. Note that I couldn't completely remove acinclude.m4; we have a
few files that are generated by autogen.sh
