Try this:
Bring up a chatview messagebox on some contact. Now change it to "Chat
request". Next, change it to "File transfer". Nothing happens. I see
this behaviour when switching between these two modes. Even got it to
crash once too when I had messages in the chatview.

bug. It's existed for me for several versions of Licq CVS, in KDE 2 and 3,
on Redhat 7.2 and 7.3. I'm currently using RH 7.3 with its default KDE3
