I forgot to check hidden directories, and I did no prior build, it was a fresh
checkout, so I don't know how it happened.

about them being wrong. I don't know how it happened since I did not 'cvs
co' as root and I had just downloaded the cvs and it was my first build. I

I see the problem now, I had libxft2-dev installed.
I installed libxft-dev which meant removing the newer version and then the
plugin compiled.
