Folks, I've committed code for the 1.0.1-SNAPSHOT to the 1.0_maint branch in the repository.
I've tested the sample app against IE8 and it works just fine. Please give it a whirl (there's nothing in the Maven repository, you'll have to hand-build) and let me know how it's working for you.
