Hello all, I am a second-year student studying computer science at UCLA, and I will be working on the cross-voice spanners project this summer as part of the Google Summer of Code program. I'm glad to have this opportunity to contribute to Lilypond---I've written music with Lilypond before and liked how I could simply write the notes in text without fiddling around with a GUI.
Currently I am still familiarizing myself with the existing code (especially the portions for parsing and engraving spanners), before considering how to change it. I will likely have more to say (and ask) once I have a better idea of how the project will proceed. Thanks to Jan-Peter (my mentor), Urs, and everyone for their support!
