Actually, the raggedright parameter doesn't do what you expect.
It turns out that LilyPond uses the same line breaking as it would
if you didn't have raggedright = ##t, but instead of squeezing together
the notes to get equal length of the lines, it will use the natural
width of each note even

New Lilypond user, four pieces coded, contributed to Mutopia.
I'm using v2.0.1, loaded through Fink on Mac )S 10.2.8.
I have a piano score which I'm trying to code. It begins with a grace
note. The resulting output shows the effect (I'm presuming) of the
grace note not being counted with the

This is exactly the reason why I could manage installing lilypond
1.6.10 under Mac OS X 10.2.8;
So far this version seems to be working fine.
But there a lot of improvements in more recent versions of lilypond
and many recent examples don't seem
