I'm trying to print music sheets with artwork.
I've figured out how to include postscript from a file, but only on the score.
Is it possible to include artwork, say, after the title?
Something like that: (view with fixed-width)

I was surprised by that behaviour too. But that's just the way it is.
Given that that seems unnatural for new users, though, I wonder if it
wouldn't make sense to change the (default) behaviour.

Once you get your basic font setup working, don't forget to save
your .ly file using UTF-8 encoding instead of Latin 1 (ISO 8859-1).
However, this doesn't explain the problems you show in your example.

in the input file. It works exactly the same way as if you want
several scores in the same file, just put the corresponding \score{...}
blocks after eachother.

darn i have a Mac Powerbook; the built in Sound card is a Texas
Instruments
TAS3004
other music type setting s/w that i have used generates midi files for
which tempo changes play ok on this machine. if anybody is
interested, i can find out the solution it uses...

You didn't say earlier that you used the Cygwin installation.
I would recommend the non-Cygwin native Windows package
available at lilypond.org/web/install/, unless you have any specific
reason to work in Cygwin.
