No, the versions do not match. Noteedit exports to Lilypond 2.4.2. and I have Lilypond 2.6.3. These are the Mandriva RPMs for my version. I wanted to put the Segno on an opening repeat double bar (||:) with two quavers anacrusis. Perhaps I should have inserted the code after the second

Did you also read in the LilyPond manual how to process the file using lilypond-book in order to get a file that latex can understand? I don't know anything about TexShop, but it's probably possible to define custom commands so that you can run lilypond-book from within TexShop. Also,

Bingo! (I hope) - When I made the DOS to Unicode change, I also added a version line to a definitions file. Stripping that line seems to have brought back my file. I also opened it and my Section test.ly in jEdit, made a change in each, and saved them. Now I seem to be able to run each of them.
