Hello,
When I extract the timpani part from my overture (I have not made cues), a
fatal problem comes--spacing issues. No matter what staff size I set, the
warning "couldn't fit music on page" always appears. How to sove it?

All:
I would like to use Lilypond to generate sheet music that can best be
described as having 2 distinct and independent sections. The first - and upper
section - is simply a list of chords used in the song along with fretboard
diagrams. The second - lower part - is similar to a lead sheet wi

You don't need the partials except at the start.

Dear LilyPonders,
while trying to typeset some vocal music I encountered some

1) \autoBeamOff has no effect on other voices when used in a global
variable/ghost voice. It has to be turned on explicitly for each
voice. This is probably intentional but AFAIK

Dear LilyPond users,
I have been having a strange problem where the MIDI output
of tremolo and unfold repeats are not the same (durations).
Has anyone been having similar problems? Any pointers as to
where to start looking for correcting this would be greatly
appreciated.
Many many thanks i

I also would mention Frescobaldi (for linux systems). Really nice and

Lilypond is a command-line software. You can edit a .ly file and
render it from command-line OR you can use an integrated text editor
like Emacs OR you can use a more sophisticated environment with PDF

Hi,
LilyPond has no graphical user interface (as other well-known
scorewriters have), which can be surprising.
It uses text files to produce PDFs, thanks to a specific

However, there's a typo in the manual, section "Selected snippets", examples

piece has an upbeat, which I'm having a bit of trouble with. The partial
measures also repeat throughout the hymn. My trouble is that I can't

Thank you, added to tracker as issue 12
Is this a bug or a known problem or how things are supposed to work? If
the fingering for the C# is to the left, then the fingering for the A
automatically avoids the accidental. if the fingering for the C# is
above the note, whether placed by using ^ or with a \set command, then
