Thanks for the answers,
by the way, the song I told you about was just an example. It could be more
complicated.
Another example.
Say I'm writing a modal composition, where the bass part is made of 4 drones
of a single bar, each repeated 32 times. Something like:
firstDrone = { c4 d e f }
I have a general method sorted out for adding simple ornaments not
covered by LilyPond, the code looks like the following example
suspension = ^\markup {\epsfile #X #2
#/home/rshann/local/share/denemo/actions/bitmaps/suspension.eps}
...
bes'\suspension( a'4.~ ) g'4\prall
...
and the typeset

It is a bug, but you can fix this one yourself if you like.
In 'property-init.ly' the definition is

Hello Davide,
I’ve installed 2.0.16 from the dmg, works fine.
One point would be nice to have : on Mac, Cmd-E copies the current selection to
the find dialog, very handy since Cmd-F easily follows.
Do you thing we could have this in Fresco?

My guess is that there is something wrong with your Python 2.7
installation. Python is trying to import the os module and it can't unzip
it. There also might be something wrong with your decompression
installation. I'm no Python expert, but I would try reinstalling Python
2.7.

you may want to try this Frescobaldi version bundled as a Mac app:

An interesting thing is that I already am using David’s .app bundle- from which
my error message was generated- but it is trying to use the Python installed
via MacPorts instead of the Python that’s part of the default Mac OS
installation.

Also interesting is that I can run convert-ly from Terminal using the command
line and successfully update .ly files to 2.18.0. The issue lies within
Frescobaldi rather than Lilypond, as far as I can tell.

I'm not a Homebrew expert, but probably MacTeX is considered by
Homebrew a dependency of LilyPond itself.
