The ragged-right is 'kind of' what I'm looking for, but not 100%: I
would like to staffs to extend (although empty) to the right margin.
This seems to work:

\Staff
\override BarLine.bar-extent = #'(0 . 2)
\override StaffSymbol.width = 105
}
ragged
Attached is an image of it. Let me know if there is anything else you
would like me to send.
I really want to hear this heavy-brass version of Schubert's quartet! ;-)

(\once may also be omitted since probably nothing comes after \bar "|.")
