Apologies in advance - I was a bit frustrated by the fact I got stuck!

Hi lilyponders,
I have written a modification to a piece of mine in which I provide
variations for some of the parts:
https://github.com/fpetrogalli/beppe-e-fiore/pull/2
For the following instruments:
clarinet 1 and 2, contralto 1 and 2, tenor, euphonium
The score has two versions, one that
Hi Michael,
yup, that's one option I can use. I was just wondering if there was
something I could type into the ly file to save the extra steps.
Cheers,

Hi all,
Is there a command that allows me to set the size of the text font and
the note fonts to a value that would result in printing the content on
an a5 paper with the same aspect of an a4 print? I know there is a
command that does that for the music font, but at the moment I seem to
have to

Hi all,
I need to add a metronome click sound to the MIDI generated with
lilypond, to allow people sync up a record-from-home session. A quick
web search didn't bring up anything that I could have used. Is there a
special midi instrument I could use for that?

I am replying here in the middle of the thread, because I decided to
opt for an open source license after reading the considerations in

Thank you Valentin for "opening the can of worms". It's been very informative.

Hi all,
apologies in advance for the slightly off topic question, but after
doing my own research I am still unable to sort out how to publish a
composition.
I have written it with lilypond, but it hasn't been performed yet. I
wanted to secure the copyright before performing it. Given that there
Hi all,
I would like to capture the output of a command line script into a
lilypond variable. Is there a way to do this?
I am trying to print the hash of a commit in the pdf, to version the file.
Kind regards,

Hi,
I have written a part using the orchestral pitch (real note) of an
instrument, the baritone sax (and other instruments, like trumpets,
alto, and so on).
All the parts are rendered with the real notes, so that I can listen
to the midi and check the music on the piano easily (I am no good at
Hi,
Is there a way to print the following bar:
```
r2 4
```
so that the lower notes are printed in \tiny fonts, and the upper ones
are printed with \normalfont?
I tried the the approches below but none off them works:
```
r2 <\tiny g \normalsize c>4 |
r2 \new Voice << {\tiny a4 g}
Hi,
here http://tinypic.com/r/2cihc0w/8 you can see a file with some
graphics that I would like to render in my lilypond document.
The symbols are circled in red in the image:
1) the top one is a sort of bar sign with a zigzag tail, I want to use
it with the meaning keep going with this pattern;
Hi,
is there a way to avoid page breaks when creating a new \bookpart?
I am writing a book of exercises, and each book part consists of
multiple exercises, each exercise is rendered within a \score. I am
not sure this is the optimal subdivision for a book of exercises, does
anybody have
I hope this helped.
Have you considered modifying the \header format for scores? If I were
in
your situation, I might try
to be a single entity.
I hope I made my point clear now, thanks for any help!
Hello,
can I put marks A, B, C etc etc generated by \mark\default in a
separate file to be included in every staff/staffgroup, like a sort of
invisible staff?
I have to copy an orchestral part and I don't want to put marks
commands in every instrument's source
Thanks
Is this a standard way to specify to play an octave higher?
If yes, how can I do this with lilypond?
If not, what should I do? Which is the standard way?
Thanks,
Francesco
