Good-day
Is it possible to set a custom paper size by specifying dimensions?
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.12/Documentation/user/lilypond/Paper-size
seems to suggest that the only way is to manually edit the paper.scm
file.
What I want to do is have a very wide page so that an entire piece can
fit on a
{
#(set-paper-size wide)

\score {
\relative c'' {
bes4 a c b

--snip--
this creates a paper wide of width 15cm and height 3cm.
This format is joined to the global paper-alist and can then get called in a
paper block.

Support for Gregorian Chant is not great in Lilypond, unfortunately,
but you can use it for simple things.
For bar lines, you want to use the special commands that are set up by
gregorian-init.ly. Specifically, the double bar line is \finalis.
See section 7.7.9 (Divisiones) for the whole list.

Not sure if this solves your problem (I don't really have time at the
moment to read it in detail) but you can add note lengths to Vaticana

change the appearance of the notes but they alter how they are aligned

Is this a bug? In the following code, the final note is not printed
